Orchard Cottage: Lake Access & Facilities On-site

The pool was walking distance and the lake, nature trails, and water activities were close and lots of fun.

It was very hot even with two fans in each room, and opening the windows there were a lot of insects coming in. We ended up sleeping in the living room since the upstairs rooms were at least 10 degree hotter. British summers are getting hotter and this property didn’t handle it . Poor cellular reception, but the Wi-Fi was good

Spotlessly clean, practical, good location - close to parking spot, the pool and tennis court

Was a home away from home, house had all the essentials. Large bath, good sized outdoor area and good position on site. Communication from the owners.

Small roof height in bedrooms and bathroom but is expected in an old cottage. Parking is a bit away from the property, but is manageable. Sky lights had no blinds so meant there was light in the bedroom as soon as the sun was up.

Location was good. Property had everything we needed.

Disappointed to discover the property didn’t come with spa access.

We came for a weekend stay at Orchard cottage in May. The cottage was beautifully clean and had everything you'd need in terms of amenities. The kitchen was well equipped (better than most self catering places I've stayed at before) and the beds were nice and comfy. The hosts had even left us a bottle of fizz and some treats for our dog which were both well received. Our two young kids loved the place and didn't want to leave. In addition, the communication leading up to the stay was great; we received a welcome pack and text messages to make sure we had everything we needed leading up to the stay. The village itself is also a really nice place with lots to do and see. Orchard cottage is perfectly located near the outdoor swimming pool and the activity hub. The kids particularly loved the pool, play parks and being able to cycle around the lagoons. We definitely plan to return and would like to stay for longer next time so that we can explore the area a bit more.

There are lots of different water and other activities you can do on site but the only thing I'd say is that they're a bit pricey. Having said that the estate is right by cotswolds waterpark where there's lots of other options in terms of kayaking, paddle boarding etc so worth a look around unless money is no object.
