"A charming find and I would stay here again."

9.0

Well appointed and period decor made it cozy. Home is well cared for and in a quiet neighborhood.

Bed in the room closest to dining room is noisy. My mom said it kept waking her up any time she or my dad moved.

"Terrific and comfortable."

9.0

Everything was great. Bed (back bedroom) super comfortable, kitchen had an amazing stove, decent knives and pots/pans, bathroom with tub was lovely, desk and chair were good. Lovely Craftsman details. Driveway parking was a little tight for my vehicle but managable. Overall it was a very nice stay and I would stay again.

The whole house is a little dark, just as it appears in the photos, due to design and physical situation and the lights were nice, especially in the kitchen. The no shoes in house rule, among many, was a bit inconvenient and would be difficult for someone needing special orthotics/shoes and may have been included in the listing but I didn't remember it. I found all the signage reminding of the rules(not shown in the photos) a little obtrusive but they blended into the background. I was a little surprised at the security given that Alameda is generally a very safe city, or so I thought. Maybe things have changed in my absense.
