Tiny House on Cattle Farm Shenandoah Valley

It is the cutest set up. We stayed in the tent and is was so stinking fun. Our son loved the outdoor shower.

A small cabin tiny house in the Shenandoah Valley, with the front door facing the sunrise over the mountains. A neighboring permanent tent also hosted a family who we had a great time with over the shared firepit. Breakfast of farm fresh eggs and pancake mix was provided with a great blacktop skillet stove. A bit rustic for those who may not be used to the outdoors, but a great stay for us.

Fun stay! Enjoyed it very much, especially the kids! Big comfy beds were great! Being on a farm making smores while watching the cows was fun :)

I can’t say enough about this stay… gorgeous property and surrounding area.. can’t go wrong with Shenandoah valley, it’s breathtaking. The tent is the most cozy, comfortable and well kitted out for you… all the comforts. It’s huge! We had quite a bit of wind 2 nights, tent is very sturdy. Property manager Gareth was there for any assistance, but we didn’t require any, everything was so well set up. If you have camped in a regular tent.. you’ll never want to go back 😁. There is a little hand sink (foot pump operated) for brushing teeth and washing hands/face. The composting toilet works well.. no odor.. but definitely look up a video on how they work if you are unfamiliar. Great picnic table, grill, sheltered area outside tent, fire pit. The works! We spent 2 days in Shenandoah national park.. just amazing. Highly highly recommend this stay! It’s a working farm so little kids would need a lot of supervision.. just fyi So well done 👍

The tent looked just like the photos and felt larger than it looks online. The facilities were great, in-tent toilet was super convenient, the grill and its attached burner came in handy and we loved relaxing in the space as well as walking around the farm. Enjoyed stargazing around the firepit with (included) smores. Dog-friendly including bowls. The peacocks were fun to watch and the shower, though it had a problem the first time I used it, was quickly repaired and was very nice. There was a huge thunderstorm on our second night and the tent stayed completely dry. The hosts offered to let us go into their other rental, a tiny cabin, but we felt safe staying in the tent. (Though our dog was not happy at that point!)

Because we did not plan to do any excursions we made every meal there, and we ran out of dishes, as we could not wash them. If I returned I would probably bring some paper plates. I was there with teens and we wanted to relax, play games, walk the dog, etc. With younger kids they might get bored and need to do excursions.

We had a wonderful experience! Unfortunately, we only stayed 1 night and it rained…but we still had a great time! Everything was very cleaned and organized. We definitely will be back to get the full experience!

Beautiful location, close to many wineries and breweries. A working farm so nice to see and hear the cows and goats. Had smores by the fire pit and saw the stars. Very comfortable bed and everything you need. Neat outdoor shower. Definitely plan on going back!

It's not terrible, but the compost toilet is a little tall to get on.
