El Manzanal - gateway to the mountains and Bilbao

Volledig uitgeruste accommodatie, perfecte ontvangst door de gastvrouw die ons dan ook nog overlaadde met praktische tips voor uitstappen in de omgeving.

The place was very calm, nice and comfortable house. It was ideal for us because we wanted to disconnect from the city and crowd. Also, close to beaches near Bilbao and close to mountain and lakes near Vitoria-Gasteiz. Also Nerea reception was amazing, there were wine, bear, artisan bread and tapas, ideal after a long journey. There are some books both english and spanish, perfect for a relaxing evening. Finally, the house has the basic consumable, so we save some euros. 100% We will be back for longer.

I didn't like the local bakery was close for that week, but we bought nice bread close to there.

Everything! Literally: starting from the host Nerea, who is absolutely lovely and caring and supporting lady, who prepared an amazing dinner for us while waiting for our arrival and explained us in all the details where to go, what to see, what to do and what is better in the region. The house is super cosy, clean and with a nice smell everywhere. Fully equipped kitchen. Everything you need for a super comfortable stay. Parking as well. We can’t be thankful enough!

We kregen een heel warm welkom. Het appartement lag aan de rand van het dorp, maar wel op loopafstand van het centrum. Hierdoor was het wel rustig, maar waren voorzieningen wel in de buurt. Het was van alle gemakken voorzien.

Me and a friend stayed a couple of days and the house was perfect for us. Couldnt ask for more, really clean and comfortable, great facilities, really nice and modern decoration, lovely quiet area and an amazing hostess! Nerea helped us with really good tips for transport, advice on the local area and even left us some amazing local food, fresh loaf, chorizo, hummus, and a few beers! Thank you for having us Nerea, I would return without a second thought!

Really great location, clean and cozy apartment, close to restaurants and town center, amazing host!

Scenery and mountain drives were amazing. We were close enough to Bilbao to visit it and yet come back to somewhere quiet in the evenings. Bilbao itself was beautiful and had lots of interesting things to see. Also, from where we were, we were able to tour some of the surrounding countryside - we went to San Sebastian one day, which was also beautiful. Our host Nerea could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

Difficult to work out times food was served.

I truly enjoyed my recent stay at this lovely place. It had great charm and I received a warm welcome from the gracious host The bed deserves a special mention. Nice pillows, a comfy mattress and good sheets made for a restful nigh The place itself is serene and surrounded by greenery and mountains; when you sit on the porch there are lovely views and the sound of birds. The interior is well designed and has all the necessary amenities. The kitchen is clean and very well-equipped. The spacious living area is comfy and tranquil. Went to a wonderful restaurant in town called Utizine for a great lunch and later a hike to nearby Santa Lucia with a great terrace bar. The location of this home is excellent. It is conveniently close to Bilbao, allowing me to explore the city with ease, and return to peace at day’s end. Just a short train ride away

Great host. Very attentive. Beautiful location. Comfortable bed. Very well equipped kitchen. Nice, clean bathroom. Spacious. At the foot of some peaceful mountain trails to destress after a day of Guggenheim and Bilbao.
