The Bothy - A secluded and romantic rural retreat

Modern, clean, well situated & dog friendly.

Small, but with most modern comforts. Kitchen had all required utensils. Unfortunately the strong smell of humidity clouds any other positives about this house, which should not have a permit as a holiday rental.

The smell of humidity in the house was terrible. We asked to have a dehumidifier on the second day (7 August), when we realised there were even woodlice on the bed (which are insects that only thrive where there is humidity). They first sent us a small fridge (?), and finally the dehumidifier arrived on 10 August. When we turned it on the humidity in the bedroom according to the dehumidifier panel was 90%, then it settled on 85%. We needed to have it on all day for it to come down to 67%, but we had to turn it off to sleep, so in the morning humidity would be again above 85%. According to the UK Environmental Agency humidity indoors should be between 30 and 50% and should NEVER exceed 60%. We had to leave the house one day early, because we felt ill. This should have never been given a permit for a holiday rental.

We absolutely loved The Bothy. It was really secluded and quiet. From the outside it looks like a beautiful little stone building and inside it is modern and designed beautifully. It’s just the right size with a lovely bathroom, bedroom, sitting room and open plan kitchen. The outside space was perfect for an evening barbecue and gin & tonic!! Just a very unusual and unique place. We can’t recommend it enough. We had a lovely time in Anglesey. Thanks so much.

Location was perfect… secluded. Close drive to lots of main attractions.

One of two deckchairs was broken and the sun shone so that was a shame. Very little hanging space.

The Bothy was immaculately clean and fully stocked with all necessary requirements for our stay. Really comfortable bed and couch, felt homely!

Would have liked a sign showing the way to the both from the driveway but didn’t pose too much of an issue.

Facilities were very good. Very nice big bath and a really good shower that we loved. Kitchen facilities also decent. Comfortable bed which made for a nice nights sleep. Location was good as close to shops and near to few places we wanted to visit.

Could’ve done with more thorough clean through but still acceptable with it being dog friendly accommodation. Sofa needs replacing or deeper clean

There is no pavement to walk from the property into town so you need to be able to drive.

The Chalet its self was lovely, very clean and had all that I needed for a few days alway

Not receiving the necessary emails for exact location and Key code box so I was unable to A. find the property or B. Enter the property when I did find it. The excessive £25 pet fee for less than 48hrs. No specific parking for the property and the half hearted incline walk way up to the property(the incline was not mentioned in the description) the area outside the property was untidy and could have done with a mow. The drains are still unfinished. Owners showed no remorse nor did they apologise!
