Finca Sa Bastida Luxury Retreat & Spa Adults Only - Over 12

During my stay at Finca Sa Bastida Luxury Retreat & Spa in Mallorca, I had an overall positive experience, initially deserving an 8.6 rating. However, my impression took a significant hit on the last day (and days after) when I discovered that there had been a theft in my room, resulting in the loss of an amount of 500 euros. The first, good and customer-friendly service by the hotel staff has now been overshadowed by theft and unfriendly and anti-social customer handling. Sadly, it overshadowed an otherwise beautiful and exclusive hotel located in the breathtaking countryside of Mallorca. Since I want other customers not only to focus on my theft, I'll first share my general feedback, and below will explain a bit more about the theft. The hotel's rooms were tastefully designed and impeccably clean, with a sense of novelty throughout. Although I noticed a few areas for improvement, such as the absence of a wastebasket in the room, lack of complimentary water, and the need for a bathroom door, these minor issues did not dampen my overall enjoyment. You really get a feeling of exclusivity and peace in your room. The location of the hotel is truly mesmerizing, surrounded by stunning landscapes. However, guests should know that a rental car is essential for venturing beyond the hotel grounds, as popular destinations like Palma de Mallorca, charming towns like Deia and Soller, and the picturesque east coast beaches are about a 40-minute drive away. For guests that are looking for a peaceful place to stay, Finca Sa Bastida is the place to be. I would like to give feedback that the hotel is looking for a differentiator, such as offering yoga classes or other facilities / activities that would belong to the hotel in this set-up. While the hotel shows great potential and already offers several facilities, it is evident that they are still in the early stages of operation.

Despite the earlier positive aspects, the theft incident significantly impacted my overall impression of the hotel. On the last day, I noticed that something was missing from my room after the hotel room got cleaned. We immediately went to the front desk, and the most disheartening part was the lack of understanding or assistance from the hotel staff during the check-out process. Since I had to catch a plane, I didn't have the time to report it to the police. Even after reaching out to the hotel through emails and messages after returning home, I received no response, leaving me dissatisfied with the level of customer support and communication. I am extremely surprised and deeply disappointed by this unfortunate incident, as it significantly tarnishes my overall hotel experience. I am still perplexed by this unusual situation, as it is the last thing one would expect in such a setting and at a hotel of this caliber. In conclusion, while Finca Sa Bastida Luxury Retreat & Spa has the potential to become an outstanding luxury retreat & spa hotel, the incident of theft remains a prominent concern. Prospective guests should know this possibility and exercise caution during their stay. I hope that the hotel management takes appropriate measures to address this issue, as it undoubtedly affects the overall guest experience and reputation of this otherwise beautiful hotel.

What an amazing stay. We were sceptical while booking since the Hotel had no reviews and seemed to be newly opened. Our 10 day stay was a dream. Room upgrade upon arrival. Super friendly and helpful staff at the reception and buffet/pool. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The Finca and the compounds were wonderfully restored. The view from the Finca and pool area were breathtaking (the photos don’t do it justice). For most of our stay we happened to be the only guests which was delightful. The spa area is small but very beautiful. The breakfast buffet was delicious and a la carte orders during breakfast were included in the price. All in all 10/10 would recommend. We will definitely return.

Very little. - the Dinner menu was a little pricey.

We decided to stay at this hotel at very short notice. And we were blown away! A beautiful brand new hotel with 15 rooms. Our room was very nicely decorated, had a very large bed and everything was new - including hygiene items from Rituals! We were the only guests there for a few days and the staff still went all out, big buffet every morning even though we were only 2 people. The staff were all very attentive, helpful and welcoming. We especially thank Héloise for the super friendly welcome and lovely care during our stay. The entire team of Finca Bastida has already become well attuned and leave nothing to be desired including wonderful Mojitos from Alex. Another highlight was the massage with Carol in the spa area of the hotel. We had very rarely experienced such a relaxing massage. Thank you Carol! It was a once in a lifetime experience to have a whole hotel just for ourselves for 5 days. We would go back to this hotel and heartily recommend it.

Honestly, there was nothing we disliked. If I had to mention something, it would be the dinner menu, because we are both people with allergies and have unfortunately found little in there that suits us. But that's not a criticism of the hotel, that's just us.
