Double bed room in Invercagill/5mini walk to city

Inside the house was very pleasant. The kitchen and lounge were generously sized and comfortable.

The property looked abandoned, long grass and weeds. The bedroom, described as a small double, was a single bedroom that a double bed had been squeezed into. To get into bed one needed to walk sideways hugging the walls. Booking.com said we would be met at the property and we could check in from 3pm. No one met us, the host phone number provided went straight to answer and Booking.com were of no help at all. Another guest gave us the security code, we got an email from the host at 6.28 pm giving us the information that we should have had hours earlier.

On arrival mail was spilling out of the letterbox and onto the ground. No instructions for guests at front door. At the back entry the bins were overflowing. A bike was lying on the ground. No answer on knocking. Thought we must have wrong address. Tried calling and contacting Bookings. Finally received a code to get in. The room was large and bright but there was only the bed and 1 chair. No TV, bedside tables or lamps. The private bathroom was nice, but was 10meters from the room down 2 hallways. There was No TV in the lounge room either only the Antenna in the corner on the floor. The owner arrived about 5.30 and explained that her husband had to suddenly fly to Sydney and was why I couldn't reach him earlier. Explained that they used to live there and were still moving out, asked if we needed anything, then left without picking up the mail or bike.

Easy to find with on street parking. Very clean with comfortable bed

Quiet, clean, comfortable. Nicely ser up place to stay.
