Quiet Home Minutes from Lake Galena & Eagle Ridge

Nice, quiet, great scenery. Saw wildlife outside. Very lovely drive to and from Galena. Had enough beds for the six of us. Kitchen had all that we required for cooking food and making cofee.

The toilet on the main floor had been leaking and the house cleaner was there finishing up for the first hour and a half after we arrived. This was disruptive. We needed to prepare for the birthday girl whom we were gathering to celebrate.

The location is great. The townhouse has a nice layout that is perfect for 1- 3 couples, a few friends, or a mixed generational families with 2 separate, comfortable living spaces, 1 office space, 2 full bathrooms, 2 decks, and private laundry to use. The owner has maintained the property nicely, and the kitchen is nicely done with updated appliances and plenty of cooking supplies that are well stocked with coffee and tea for a few days' stay. (No food - byof). The bathrooms are supplied with ample sized plush soft towels and nice soaps. The evenings were quiet, peaceful, and calm early in September. There is a paved path just steps away from the front door. Bike or walk the trails around the resort properties or take a scenic drive to downtown Galena just 5 minutes away. Enjoy 3 pools, 2 outside 1 inside at the resort and plenty of golfing if you choose. Our favorite activities were biking (our own bikes) and the Hot Air balloon rides over Galena. Simply magical!

Some of the paths were in need of repairs. Hard time ride the bikes on the hills with potholes. King bed was too large for the main floor bedroom and needs privacy curtains on those windows as well.

The host, Doug, could not be more accommodating or accessible. I had a few questions during my stay and he answered them quickly. He checked in with me several times during our stay to make sure all was going well, and it was. The property is lovely, comfortable, well stocked and organized, and clean. We had everything we needed for a joyful 3-generation family getaway. Kids took over the basement, grandma had the main level, and I slept (and worked a little bit) upstairs.

Honestly there isn't much if anything to complain about. Wasn't a fan of the chair in the office area. I had trouble seeing the dials on the stove because of lighting, or maybe because I didn't have my glasses on. I mean honestly, this is just a lovely property run by a really great host. You will love it.

Loved the peaceful location and convenience - 15 mins from the downtown and Lake Galena, surrounded by the walking trail. Rooms were good size, big screen TVs, and streaming service available. We appreciated well equipped kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, patios for outdoor dining, board games, and a fitness center ( 10 mins away). The house was very clean and had a warm, cozy feeling with a pleasant decor. Doug was a great host who was very welcoming in his messages, ensured we had everything we needed, and responsive to all inquiries. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and would highly recommend staying here.

We liked everything about it.

Very clean, easy access to entrance, extremely quiet. Comfortable living room,dining area for 4 friends to enjoy.

Could use more regular, rather than large, spoons. Would have been helpful to know in advance the number of steps to each bedroom as we had an older friend with some mobility issues. The front stoop has an uneven board, presenting potential tripping hazard.
