OUTRIGGER Koh Samui Beach Resort

Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The accommodation was affordable, and the bed was comfortable.

Photos are a bit deceptive. The pool and beach are actually located across a busy road away from the rooms, which wasn’t clear when booking. Our rooms overlooked a building and construction, so it wasn’t the relaxing atmosphere we expected. The beach itself also wasn’t really swimmable during our stay, the water was quite murky with lots of shells and debris. Obviously that part isn’t the resort’s fault, but the photos online make it appear much nicer than the reality I also had issues with the air conditioning, it made a loud buzzing noise throughout our stay. A technician came to look at it, but unfortunately it didn’t improve. Room didn’t have towels upon check-in, which isn’t ideal to discover after having a shower. The bathroom also didn’t have any electrical outlets, which felt quite strange and inconvenient The buffet breakfast was also disappointing and not worth the extra cost. We tried it one morning and found the Thai food especially to be bland and lacking flavour. We were told there weren’t places open around the resort for breakfast, turns out there was a great cafe open everyday right next to resort which we went to instead. Overall, the stay was quite disappointing. We booked this resort for a 30th birthday celebration and honestly wish we had stayed longer at our previous resort instead.
