The Camelia, our Room with Lake View, Private Bathroom and Dedicated Parking at the Villa Isabella Stresa

Veldig hyggelig familie som tok oss godt i mot og ga tips og råd om oppholdet. Beliggenheten er meget sentral! Verten har laget en liste med foreslåtte restauranter etc. Vi testet ut flere og anbefalingene var gode! Fint med mulighet for parkering. Huset er vakkert, og standarden er god. Egen espressomaskin på rommet.

Vi rotet litt med å finne fram til selve huset. Det var lettere å finne parkeringen. Vær obs på at du går gjennom familiens bolig når du går inn og ut av rommet. Det er helt uproblematisk, men greit å være klar over.

Beautiful place, perfect location. Great views, from the bed you can see the lake! All was super clean. Familiar and calm atmosphere but super close to all restaurants and shops and boats that goes to Borromean Island. The family who runs it are very nice people, helpfull and attentive. We were very happy to have choosen Villa Isabella for our stay.

The room is located on the second floor of a charming Villa, within walking distance to the lakeshore and Stresa's 'Main Street'. The Villa itself is surrounded by a beautiful garden. The ground and first floors are private to the owners. The room and bathroom were very clean and featured all expected equipment and amenities. Special mention to the bed and the mattress, which is among the most comfortable I have ever experienced. All in all, I enjoyed staying in this Villa!

You are not allowed to eat inside the room, so that means you have to go outside for breakfast. Although you receive a very detailed (and long) set of instructions, I felt that getting the keys was a bit cumbersome. Probably I was a bit too tired on that day. There is a private parking lot in the back of the garden, that you access through another 1-way street.

The location was really good being close to the lake and Town. Parking was tight but secure.

There are far too many rules when staying here, it made us feel quite unrelaxed and almost unwelcome. For example - You must take off your shoes at the front door, this meant we had to walk up two flights of stone stairs to reach our room, this was uncomfortable and laborious, especially when moving luggage in. You cannot bring food to the room as the "ants will populate your room overnight". Not only is this an unpleasant thought but with a four year old child with us, he is not allowed any snacks or breakfast in the room. Despite adhering to this rule we still had ants in the room from the time we checked in. The room had a very small fridge which had not been plugged in before our arrival, once plugged in it was very noisy and annoying through the night. The beds were not comfortable and the temperature was cold in the evening. We had no way of turning on the radiators to even dry the towels.

Very spacious room in an elegant villa located in a quiet area close to the centre of Stresa. Private off-road parking is a real bonus in this busy town.

A few small niggles, but nothing worth highlighting.

The location was perfect, near the city and train station. The building and room were both very charming and beautiful. Lots of nice touches like nespresso maker and essential oils making everything smell wonderful.
