A Magical Stay in Moclin – A Hidden Gem in Rural Andalusia We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Esperanza 9 in the beautiful village of Moclin, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The property has been lovingly and tastefully restored—spotlessly clean, modern, and extremely comfortable. The beds were especially cozy, the apartment was well-equipped with everything we needed, and the views from the terrace were nothing short of breathtaking. Watching the sun rise and set over the olive groves and the Sierra Nevada was a daily highlight. The plunge pool was a real treat, especially during the warmer days—it made cooling off after a hike feel like pure luxury. Our hosts, Andrew and Ian, were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They provided lots of useful information about local supermarkets, tourist attractions, and great places to eat. They’ve also created a wonderful blog about the local area, which we found really insightful for planning our days. One of the best parts of our stay was walking the Ruta del Gollizno each morning. It’s an unforgettable trail with stunning natural scenery, rich wildlife, and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside—absolutely magical. The local tapas bars in the village are charming, and we were touched by how warm and friendly everyone was. We also enjoyed exploring the historic sites in the area, and it’s safe to say we completely fell in love with Moclin. In fact, we loved it so much that, with Andrew and Ian’s help, we found and purchased our dream Spanish property nearby! We’re excited to restore it and become part of this special community ourselves. If you love nature, authentic Spanish charm, and peaceful countryside living, I can’t recommend Esperanza 9 and Moclin highly enough. It’s a place that captures your heart—and we can’t wait to return.

The location is fabulous, right by a great local walk! The property itself caters to your every need, and nothing left wanting. The welcome pack was highly appreciated.

Fabulous house - amazingly beautifully designed, brilliant hosts, truly stunning views and location. Perfect for: tranquility, walking, resetting the mind after stress, day trip to Granada.

What’s not to like? Fabulous property which is well equipped and decorated, I don’t think I’ve stayed anywhere that is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. It was great that there was fan in the bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, as was the rest of the furniture in the property. The plunge pool was great and very much necessary in the heat. Great location in a lovely quiet village with plenty to do within an hours drive.

Nothing we didn’t like..! If I was to be super picky I would suggest a handle on the outside terrace door to pull it to.
