Luz de Aroa

We had a good but eventful couple of days at Luz de Aroa. The accommodation consists of 3 rooms (kitchen/bedroom and bathroom) that have no internal connection, so to access each, you have to go outside onto the covered verandah. There is a CCTV camera pointing at the verandah which feels a bit odd, especially at night when nipping to to the bathroom! We had the window to the bedroom open on the first night that we were there as the room was a bit musty. But a cat came in through the window in the early hours of the morning and jumped on the bed which woke me with a frightening start! So the next night we had to keep the window closed to stop the cat coming in (I like cats but allergic). We had to use the fan instead, but that stopped during the night as the power ran out (it had been a cloudy/rainy day and the accommodation just has solar power), so no lights/shower or toaster in the morning! The verandah in front of the kitchen gets very wet in the rain, and the kitchen floor becomes VERY slippery in bare feet, so keep shoes on with grip if it rains! There is an orange tree in the garden and a juicer so we had delicious fresh orange juice each morning. There is a restaurant within walking distance, but it closed at 5pm so we cooked for ourselves both nights. The kitchen was well enough equipped to do this and has a gas hob and small electric oven, which were both good. The shower was great (when we still had power!), and the bathroom very clean. It seems that the cat lives there as there was food in the fridge for it and it kept trying to come in all the time.

I didn't like the cat jumping on me in bed!

Bardzo fajne miejsce, kontaktowy i bezproblemowy właściciel. Wygodne łóżko, dobrze wyposażona kuchnia. Dzięki informacjom od właściciela nie było problemu ze znalezieniem miejsca. Bardzo polecam!

Brak suszarki w łazience i sztućców w kuchni ;)

La casita nos pareció una fantasía. Tuvimos una estancia corta, pero muy agradable en Garafía. Nos gustó mucho la zona del pasillo con su gran cristalera. Es una zona exterior que necesitas transitar para moverte entre habitaciones y, aunque le da un montón de luz a la casa y te permite estar en contacto con la naturaleza de la zona, la temperatura puede ser un poquito más baja que en el resto de la casa. Está muy bien ubicada para visitar la zona noroeste de la isla; cerquita de zonas costeras encantadoras, de montes increíbles y muy cerca del pueblo de Santo Domingo, donde puedes encontrar cafeterías, tienditas, supermercado y todos los servicios necesarios.

Nos gustaron las vistas del lugar, las instalaciones muy cómodas y de mucha calidad. Al estar apartado del pueblo, se sentía mucha tranquilidad y paz.

Las camaras que hay de seguridad intimidan un poco, entendemos que son para cuidar la seguridad pero también hacen que te sientas muy vigilado, las escondería un poco

Eenvoudig huisje met goed bed en heerlijke douche gelegen in een idyllisch dorp. Supermarkt en restaurants op wandelafstand. Mooie wandelingen gemaakt in de omgeving (La Zarza, las Tricias). Goede logeerplek als je in het Noorden bent!
