Very good and great location.

Caught up with friends in Buxton for the night and what a fantastic pub. The rooms were fantastic, clean and spacious. Would highly recommend!

The rooms were fantastic and staff really helpful, very thoughtful that the rooms are away from the pub even when busy with bands on in the pub you get a great night's sleep. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you for a great stay.

Nothing all was good

Great location in Higher Buxton with most attractions about 10 minute walk away. 3 of us stayed in room 16 which has a double bed and 2 proper single beds, so could sleep 4. Very clean and comfortable. Separate entrance so you don't necessarily have to walk through the pub to get to the rooms in a courtyard at the back of the pub - so no noise from the traffic on the High Street. Lovely welcome from all the staff, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast with in main ingredients being sourced locally.

Excellent hospitality from the staff. Very personal attention given yet the breakfast experience was like a large high end hotel. Pristine white quality table linen, including cloth napkin. Cutlery that was higher end and traditional in style. Breakfast items were provided by the local butcher and were quality produce. No plastic sausages here - they were proper. The room was spotless and well equipped although the en suite was a tad small. But that's a minor criticism. Would I go again? Definitely.

As I've already mentioned, the en suite was small and a bit awkward to negotiate. The location involves negotiating a hill to get to and from the centre.That didn't go down well with my arthritic knees. If you're knees are pain free it's no problem. But the breakfast more than makes up for that minor inconvenience.
