D Maris Bay

I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel. Despite its appearance of being a luxury hotel , it is in fact quite basic. From check-in to check-out, my experience was far from satisfactory. The reception staff were inefficient and lacked any real knowledge about guest services. Additionally, all the beaches were always overcrowded. Finding a spot was nearly impossible unless you were willing to wake up at 7 AM to secure one. Overall, my stay was not pleasant, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a true luxury experience.

Without exaggerating, this is the best, best hotel in Turkey! 5 great white sand beaches, great restaurants, top level service. Cleanliness and amenities to infinity....Later in the beginning of autumn we will repeat because it is an unforgettable experience.

Hotel needs renevation

The “like” part of this property applies to the beaches and the location. It’s as if there are two separate resorts to rate the quality (one at the beaches , and one the hotel) as the beaches and the staff meets and exceeds the expectations for in-class resorts. Staff well trained, cleanliness, and the overall experience at the beaches is a true 5 star resort. Unfortunately, not the same can be said about the hotel. Again, it’s as if they are managed by two different people.

The hotel is old with small rooms by comparison with other in class hotels, albeit clean and with the proper amenities. The worst is the staff at the hotel: untrained, hurried, rude, overbearing. We were told by the manager that our request for connecting rooms wasn’t honored because we booked through booking.com vs. direct. Booking.com might want to look into that.(we made 33 room reservations for this trip and logistically having them all in one place made sense). There was a wedding the weekend we were there: two nights we didn’t sleep for the preparation (catering truck coming and going and insanely loud sound checks), one night the actual wedding and the last night noise of the cleanup. I wouldn’t sleep again in this hotel if I was paid to do so. For international travelers, you have endless in class choices in Hawaii and the Caribbean with FS hotels, 1Hotel, Jade Mountain, Sugar Beach, or if you want the Mediterranean, du Cap Ferrat and Eden Roc will treat you much better. To say nothing about Bora Bora, Seychelles and Maldives, but those are above in class. Ultimately, D Maris’s problem (and by extension LHW as a brand here) is that they function in a low-trust society and I’m not sure that you can ever 5 star that.

Everything was perfect, from the beauty of the whole spot to the wonderful professionalism and reactiveness of all employees here (especially Mert who took care of us), as well as the comfort and the cleanliness of the room. Two special mentions for: - The silent beach, where you can relax enjoying the... Silence :) - A special attention for us who were on our honeymoon.

You want to feel special after paying $$$$ They let everyone from the boats nearby come to the facility without charging them a dime. They use the lids club, pool, restaurants basically enjoying the same resort like we do minus paying the $$$$ We couldn’t find a seat on the main beach. For the first time, I didn’t feel safe to leave my beach bag alone on the beach. If there is a special event which there was one during our stay at the resort, you are not allowed to use that beach, this beach, that restaurant etc… that’s really not fair. Secondly, since we were not allowed to use the some restaurants we had to dine at D-Maria kitchen . D-Maris kitchen lunch menu is great but the dinner is not even edible. We had to send the food back and went to sleep hungry. Lastly, they don’t have good coffee. Actually terrible. I can’t believe resort like this serving Nespresso drinks and couldn’t invest on a Espresso machine and barista!!! I tried to reach out to the GM of the hotel but he didn’t event respond to my email. Maybe they can be more responsive.
