01/08/25 - on arrival we explicitly requested a room away from any party/wedding and for a quiet room. Our room was directly onto the back of the wedding venue smoking area. 1am to 1:45am, alarm went off three times. No apology just Abruptly said 'False alarm don't worry about it' and walked through the door to have it thrown closed in our face by an employee bearing in mind we were in bed for 10:30pm. Spoke to reception in the morning to be told ' he probably had other things on his mind'... And the wedding had a smoke machine thus causing the alarms'. Wedding had loud music until 2am and people screaming constantly in smoking area (right into our room window) Alot of disturbance/noise outside the room in corridor with people knocking doors and running away/ arguing. Went for a swim the next morning to relax and was not informed that there was a swimming class using the pool as well🙈 For breakfast was put into the bar area but food was good. Overall very poor experience and especially with the price the room was dated, bathroom door wouldn't close and shower pressure was a joke and facilities did not meet the price or expectations. We understand weddings happen but to request a room away from the wedding and told it was, but wasn't would have solved this problem and we get that swimming classes happen but not to be informed or advised to come back a different time. Simple measures would have prevented the problems.
