Rai’s Coorg Cave House

1. Location- the entire house surrounded by forest. No noise. Just the sounds of nature. You are away from civilization. Need such breakes. Wonderful view all around with fresh air. 2. Cave house - very well planned interiors, furniture, optimum utilization of space, Cave like feel all around. 3. Rooms - one bedroom with perfect valley view from bed. This rooms bathroom has openning with forest view Other one with bunk bed completely like Cave. 4. Staff - Subbaiah and his wife. Timely delicious food. Support for all needs 5. House runs on. UPS and backup generator 6. Solar for hotwater 7. Barbecue set and bonfire area.

Everything comes with a package. But when there is external interference one need to wait. Being away from civilization you are on your own. We experienced no network and the house wifi went down.. sometimes this is good as u get complete privacy and break. Convenience and proximity to shops is not possible. There is serious shortage of electricity. Though the hose runs on UPS with 3 strong batteries we had power outage at night. But they have generator as backup which saved us from darkness. Commute or access to main road. You need to have ur own vehicle.

Cave Theam is good ,but we faced power issue . Also food can be improvised on terms of taste

Stay n staff is nice

Main think I like in this resort is, even though we were only 2 member stayed, the whole resort home will be ours and no others will be allowed/shared, which admired me a lot. About owner, really a nice person, tracks us from our start and even after vacate, enquired whether we reached safely, which not most or none of the other resorts done till now. Caretakers are so friendly and always face us with a smile :). Home made food and they prepare food according to our request and the taste of food was awesome, both with quantity and quality.

This is a unique sort of holidaying experience, having a sense of staying inside the cave but with all modern amenities for a comfortable stay. The host was quite friendly, caring and helpful. He had constant touch with us during the entire stay, although he stayed out of India, to make sure our stay was comfortable. The caretakers were also friendly; the food was homely, hygienic, and tasty. They provided us with Coorg-style south Indian food on demand. I was carrying my pet with me (1.5 years Shih Tzu), who enjoyed the premises and freely roamed around for four days. The Cave is quite spacious with a kitchen, a sitting, large TV, a refrigerator, a toast maker, cutleries, a microwave oven, two bedrooms, and attached washrooms; we especially appreciated the balcony with the valley view. Sitting on the balcony in the cool breeze and enjoying the magnificent view was quite enjoyable.

The approach road is a slight concern, especially the last few meters. Although the property has a proper road, the last 1.5 km of road is muddy or stony. The last few meters have literally been stony with quite a bit of discomfort for driving.
