We had an amazingly warm welcome by Maria and her sister Lalaine (who manages the cafe below the property). The room is as described and as depicted on the pictures. It's a good option for the price. If you plan to stay longer, I would book Maria's room further out of the city as that one is more spacious, great value for money and you get the chance to meet the family as well as all their pets! Maria and her sister showed us the whole town, took us to go for dinner and helped us a lot with finding our way further on the island. I will definitely be back and if I only need to stay for a night or even take a ferry in the middle of the night, I would stay in this apartment close to the ferry.

It gets a bit noisy in the early mornings as the port awakens so if you want it quieter, book her homestay a bit further outside of town. She'll gladly assist you with getting there / showing you around!

Very nice, friendly and communicative host. The lodging house is also located directly next to the port, which is very convenient.

Maria is super friendly and helpful. She shared her insights on how I can travel the city without any hassle. She also invited me to bond with her in her personal home together with her ate. Had a great night with them. I hope that when I come back, ill be with my family and will choose her place again. Thank you so much, Maria.

The location was perfect.

We booked a double room, check in was listed at between 2pm-6pm. Before we got there (at around 2:40pm) I had received about 5 messages (I had no WiFi to see them) and somehow the host had found me on social media and messaged and called me there as well. I had specified our check in time as 2pm-3pm. When we arrived she had given our room to someone else. And made us stay in a children's bunk bed, which was broken. I am 5 foot 6inches, and it was too short for me, let alone my 6foot partner. It said it included linen- we got no blankets, the bedding was stained and the towels were dirty. It said it included toilet roll, we got non. The bathroom was under an inch of water, and the water didn't work. There was no shower. The only source of working water was a murky looking barrel. We ended up using the toilet of the McDonald's down the road instead. Halfway through our day, we'd already been out at this point, we got our padlock for the door. Except the area to lock from the outside was at the top of the door- where nobody under 5 foot 5 could reach. We chose this accomodation as it was the only one listed within our budget on booking.com, it didn't look amazing but it looked ok, and better than some places I've been. I've stayed in lots of basic accomodations very happily, and don't need luxury, but this was on another level. Really disappointed. Will not go back. Do not recommend.
