LA VELA BLU

We have just returned after spending six nights at La Vela Blu. We based ourselves there for a walking holiday around Cinque Terra and the surrounding area. The apartment suited us perfectly. It is spacious, clean and has everything we wanted. The washing machine was a bonus as we were travelling light and on a budget so cooked in the apartment to save on expensive meals/drinks out all the time. The apartment is near the centre of La Spezia and the locals markets and shops etc. Tiziana helped us out by giving us early access and replied speedily to any communication required. We would definitely recommend this to anyone. Don`t be put off by grubby old photos on Google street view as the entire building has been repainted at the front and looks great. It is also very good value for money compared to other places we considered.

It is right next to the main line railway station and so recommend taking some ear plugs. It is not too noisy but obviously freight trains run through the night. After long days walking and ear plugs we both slept soundly though!!

Good space with everything we needed in a location that worked for us (we walk everywhere) . Having facilities for coffee making and washing were a big advantage. The communication was quick and easy .

A longer better bed for tall men ! Air conditioning will benefit the property in the long run but there are plenty of fans .

No aircon when it says there is, beds were not comfortable, paying €10 for linen each, had issues with water heating, had to take rubbish 15 minutes away from accommodation at the end of the stay

They request us 10 Euros for clean sheets and towels per person.

Separate rooms or combined. Full kitchen with washing machine. Couch and TV. Located close to the station. Large and private.

Sometimes the train noise was loud - although not as bad at night as I thought it would be. We read poor reviews for safe car parking nearby so we left the car farther in town. There is closer parking.

There is no opener for wine and wine glasses are missing (as people wrote before). The water in the shower is not constantly hot. TV and kettle etc. is old fashioned. There is a lot of noise in the area. If it would just be the trains it would be fine. But there is also renovations nearby, so it's very loud in the morning. You also hear the neighbour's very well.

Location was easy place to get to many of the central places like Pisa , Florence etc and La Speiza was a lovely town to eat out and go for late night walks. Was really easy to get into the apartment and made us feel welcomed .

Air conditioning didn’t seem to work , front doors catches the floor , there was another additional cost for cleaning /tax,
