Very noisy pretty much the whole time as it is right on the road. The views made up for it though. A toaster would have been nice.
AULocation is perfect. It's away from the tourist crowds but has easy access via the ferry on your doorstep to everything in Lake Como. The restaurant below is fantastic and the cafe we went to up the street has lake side seating with no wait. Communication with the host was great and we appreciated the modern fit out of the apartment with so many other options being very dated. The view is ridiculous. I love this place and would stay again.
It would be great to have fans. This is true of all of Italy so far. I think culturally fans just aren't common. 2 small portable fans in the apartment would go a long way when it's hot. There is air conditioning in the bedroom which was very much appreciated but some movable fans or ceiling fans in the main living area would make the humidity more bearable. There was a washing machine but no washing detergent. We tried to do washing on the last night before checkout as the washing machine was a nice touch but with no detergent it was ultimately useless for us. Not sure if that was just an oversight for our stay. Coffee pods. We were two people staying for 3 nights but they only gave us 4 coffee pods. It really wasn't a problem due to the great cafe up the street. I'm just writing this for feedback for the host. I'd give the guests × the nights in coffee pods. Maybe an oversight but just feedback for the host who was great.
ZALocation was great. the apartment was spacious.
It was advertised as having aircon. This is NOT the case. There was an extremely noisy aircon in the bedroom, however this was behind the curtain, so your choice was to sleep with the curtain open and wake up at 6am or the aircon behind the curtain which was useless. The living area of the apartment had NO AIRCON. The temperatures averaged 34 Celsius every day and the room was like a sauna. After extremely assertive messages to the apartment manager a portable aircon was delivered. This however meant that the door needed to remain open to let the hot air out but at the same time allowed all the heat of the day to enter as well. This was better than nothing but far from what we expected. This apartment should not be advertised as a property with aircon. It really dampened our stay.
CAWhen planning our trip to lake Como we wrestled with what location would be the best. So glad we went with Nella Como!! Amazing location, Right across the street from the ferry. Chose to do a day. Pass on the ferry and was able to pop home in the middle of the day. The facilities were phenomenal, Well-Designed comfortable furniture. Spacious beautiful bathroom I could go on and on. Absolutely amazing. Would go back in a heartbeat. This was our first time doing a booking on booking.com and the host was more than accommodating for us. So patient and helped us walk through the process of getting into the building. We took a day to drive around the lake just to see what other towns were available and so glad we chose Nella Como.
We happen to come in the summer in the heat and a fan in the living room would be the only suggestion I would make.
NOTh apartment was just amazing. It was clean, and spacious and had a very modern design feel. The first impression after entering the door was breathtaking.
Sadly the major disappointment was the huge air-conditioning that is placed right beside the bed. It has a loud noise, making it hard to sleep at night. Some nights my wife and I slept on the couch with the door open as it was just too annoying to hear the sound of a Volvo engine next to you. It's just too hot in the building to just turn off the air condition so we coped.
