Fantastic location

The weather. Storm Amy !!!!

Our stay here was well above any expectations. Facilities were great and we had everything we needed and more on arrival thanks to the hosts, who were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Everywhere was very clean. Amazing views. Felt like a home from home. Will definitely be returning.

Nothing to dislike about our stay

I had a very comfortable two night stay in this property, the basement of the School House. Very clean and well-equipped, everything is good quality and in good working / decorative order, very comfortable bed and great shower. Very quiet at night. Easy to find, plenty of parking and amazing setting (spectacular views). The hosts are lovely people, they came round to check all was OK and that I had all I needed. I highly recommend this place and would have no hesitation staying again.

Cozy basement perfect for exploring the surrounding valleys. Our stay was fabulous and Matt was a super host!

Fully equipped and well situated for visiting Halifax and the surrounding area. The hosts were very helpful, it was easy to find with plenty of parking. It was great to find there were some essentials in the kitchen such as milk, butter, bread, tea, coffee etc. On top of this there were lots of toiletries to pamper yourself with.

Because the rooms are based in the cellar they only have windows near the ceiling which means you miss out on the fantastic view outside and it’s a bit dark. It also felt a little damp when we arrived but was ok after we had the heater on for a short time.

Friendly hosts, met us on arrival. A very pleasant accommodation with excellent views.

Everything was exceptional from arrival to leaving

First of all, the welcome. I've been fortunate enough to meet so many nice people on my travels, but these people were exceptional. It was like floating in a sea of warmth. Nothing and I mean nothing, was too much trouble and there efforts to welcome us were also reflected in the beautiful, spacious and stunning interiors of our accomodation. The attention to detail was simple exceptional, from the tasteful decor, to the quality of the fittings, to the welcome hamper. It was simple perfect. The location is just beautiful and we were welcome to use any outside space. Parking was as easy as it could possibly be and off road. Travel to Halifax is around 7 mins, but don't miss out on the local pub just up the road where the food was excellent, well priced and the welcome was outstanding from both the owner and the locals. Several of who made a point of talking to us.

Three things in which we felt disappointed.... 1 . Leaving. 2 . We were in Yorkshire for eight days and only stayed with Matt and Lisa for two nights. 3 . Not living next door to these people as, without any doubt, Matt and Lisa would emeasurably enrich the lives of anyone they came into contact with.
