A Sanctuary by the Sea

Very modern clean and comfortable apartment near the beach. Host communication top notch. A good base for visiting Tulum, Coba, cenotes etc by car. Very near the sea.

It's a bit of a walk, but only 5-10 mins along the beach, to where you can safely swim because of rocks.

The apartment is very clean and comfortable and extremely well equipped, with thoughtful touches like picnic bags, beach chairs and a well stocked kitchen. The apartment is very nicely furnished and has everything you need. The block it is in has a nice communal swimming pool as well as access to a nearby beach club with another small swimming pool and loungers. The owner is very helpful and communicative and responds quickly to questions.

The property itself is lovely but I would advise that you do need a car to get around, both to the main beach at Akumal and other nearby beaches and tourist sites or to do grocery shopping. The beach club that you get access to does not have a bar or restaurant so you have to walk quite far along the beach or go to another beach nearby. That was fine for us as we always planned to go out for the day in any case, but it is worth knowing as without a car your options are a bit limited.

Very clean, good location, quiet, great hosts

Pool was a bit smaller than anticipated and had too much chlorine. Beach is better for snorkeling than small kids.

The flat is nice and have a the comforts.

You need a car to get there, the sea is close but you don't have any sand beach. So you need to take the car to go to the beach.

Everything was great, the apartament was very well fitted and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. And it is a true sanctuary indeed. The owner was also super helpful, very reponsice and he even allowed us to store our luggage in the apartament for two days before arrival.

Location is a little distant from the Akumal Town so you either need a car or be prepared for a 2 km walk. We did not mind it though.

Beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. Very comfortable beds, great views, and wonderful pool areas. Fresh bottled water, coffee & snacks were provided, as well as extra towels, sheets, huge thick beach towels, and a travel cooler. The private rooftop pool area was amazing. The owner/host, Kevin, was very helpful and went out of his way to help with questions. I hope to go back & will definitely recommend to friends and family.

It's in a quiet, isolated area, which we liked but may not be for everyone. Nearest large grocery store is about 20 minutes away. Akumal is the nearest village, about 10 minutes. The beach across the street is solid rock/coral, so don't expect any white sand. But it's still very beautiful. We enjoyed walking there and looking for unusual pieces of coral. The ocean & waves were phenomenal.

Superb location, secluded and 100 metres from an excellent sandy beach.

We had a wonderful stay and the apartment and infrastructure were faultless.

It is truly a sanctuary and arguably the best location to explore the Riviera Maya.

Modern, clean, tastefully decorated and very quiet.

Have to drive to get to anywhere.
