The landlord of this unit does not act in good faith. He charges patrons for the booking then he says it cannot accommodate them if they are not traveling for leisure purposes. I made the booking at KNUS chalet in Epe for a colleague in which I stated that he is traveling with the purpose of working in the area and I paid in full. The landlord texted me and called to ask if the guest purpose for this travel is leisure or business. Apparently in Nederland there’s a law that forbids the use of accommodation such as these for other purposes than leisure. I understood the situation and I wanted to cancel the booking for not being suitable for my colleague only to be refused reimbursement on the ground that the booking is non-refundable and seemingly I agreed with the conditions. Refusal to accommodate travelers that paid in full for the services no matter the reasons should lead to reimbursement of the money paid, well this didn’t happened because the landlord refused reimbursement. The lack of consideration and cooperation makes me think that the landlord of KNUS chalet in Epe swindle people for not reading footnotes in their units description and charge for services he can not provide.

Chalet was clean and situated in a nice location. Epe is within easy cycling distance.

Lack of clear instructions about how to find chalet and how to get through the barrier. When we asked at reception the people there were deliberately unhelpful. They said they could not tell us where the chalet was. When asked again they simply told us we had to speak to the owner and they could not help us. Tried calling contact number 3 times but no answer. Walked around the site and eventually found the chalet. Key for barrier was inside the chalet. Someone called back about an hour after we arrived but this was too late to help. The bed is not good as it has very little space on one side and no space down the other side. Makes it difficult to get in and out easily, especially for the person sleeping against the wall. The only heating available was a pellet burner in the living room. We only used this first morning when it was bit cold, but it is very noisy and does not heat the bedroom The property was advertised as having cable TV when in fact only the the Dutch public channels were available NPO 1,2,3. All of the other channels were not subscribed.
