The Capetonian - Halal

The room was large and spacious with a comfortable bed, airconditioning, desk to work on, and bathroom with everything one needs. The living room area was also spacious with a couch and coffee table. I had a decent view to table mountain as well. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The shower head was a bit oddly placed shooting water at a weird angle. The space between the toilet and the shower glass was minimal so it felt like a squeeze. The TV quality was terrible, like a TV I had almost 15 years ago. The aircon struggled to cool the entire room since it was a large room but was fine if left to run for a few hours.

I liked that the food was halaal and the staff were friendly and helpful. I liked that the location is convenient and central.

I didn't like the old furnishings. There was a weird smell in the hotel. Like detergents. The bathroom was so old. The TV is very outdated and there was no smart functions like logging in to your own Netflix etc The were no 2 prong plug points at the bedside so very inconvenient to charge your phone. There were no robes or slippers. This place really needs a revamp if it wants to charge a premium for staying there. Location is important but so are amenities. Also wasn't sure if there was a spa/sauna etc if there was it wasn't well advertised.

I loved everything about The Cape town except for one thing which is the time they clean.

For 2 day my room was clean after I requested, and it was already after 15:00 both times the second time I was mad because I came from a race and so tired all I needed to do was rest but now I had to wait for someone to come clean. I didn't have a problem with the explanation I got from the supervisor that was called my problem now started when the person responsible to clean my room was asked why she did not clean my room and she said I had put a DND tag on my door and she was lying. I was pissed that day.

Everything about the hotel was very very good. I only wish there was a swimming pool, and health spa at the facility
