Really friendly staff and nicely kept rooms. The breakfast included in the morning far exceeded our expectations and was a proper table order rather than the usual buffet. There was plenty of parking and no noise at all from the pub below. We were attending a wedding at Merrydale Manor, and the free shuttle bus was a lifesaver for getting back. Definitely book here if you are going to an event there!

The pub is a beautiful, traditional country premises, boasting a great indoor and outdoor atmosphere. My partner and I ate an evening meal and breakfast there during our stay, both of which were spectacular. The quality produce is procured from local farmers, which is evident in the taste of the meals we ate. The staff were really friendly, hugely accommodating and nothing was too much for them. We stayed in room 1 ‘The Boxer’ - a large double room with large en-suite, extra-large double bed, and a lovely view across the fields out the front of the pub. The room and en-suite was immaculately clean, with every possible facility you may need. As far as accommodation goes, my wife and I mutually agreed that was by far one of the comfiest bed’s we’d ever slept in. The overall experience of the pub was nothing short of brilliant, and we’ll be sure to stop by again next time we are up visiting friends.

A very minor detail, but the hallway to the rooms has solid flooring so the noise of guests late at night can temporarily wake you up. Otherwise, it was fantastic.

Very buzzy pub with great choice of drinks and food. It was a Sunday and the roast dinner was excellent. We had the Boxer dog room which was very clean and comfortable with plenty of storage space. Although it was very busy, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, helped with luggage and took us to our room. Very good breakfast.

Nothing to dislike. We were at a wedding the next day at Merrydale Manor, owned by the same company. We were rather disappointed that there was not a shuttle service during the day, however, the young man on reception was able to organise a taxi at a reasonable price. When we arrived at Merrydale, the company’s own minibus was parked outside.
