Great location and the bathroom was amazing.

Some minor things in our room needed fixing or some attention, and the coffee pods was not replaced on our second night stay

Franschhoek Boutique Hotel exceeded my expectations. The property might look simple at first glance, but the rooms were really impressive - they looked better than the photos. The rooms were well-stocked with teas and coffees, and the bathroom had everything you needed. It's also probably one of the most conveniently placed hotels in Franschhoek, because it sits just behind a small shopping plaza with galleries and restaurants, and the supermarkets (including Checkers and Clicks) are right across the road. This is pretty much in the heart of Franschhoek and so many of the finest wine estates and restaurants are a short drive and even a short walk away.

The Wi-Fi wasn't great. For one, neither my wife nor I could consistently connect to it, and when we did, it was slower than relying on our mobile data. One other thing is that the honesty mini bar is one of the most expensive we've seen on our travels anywhere in the world. R70 (€3.50/$4.00/£3.15) for a small pack of sweets is RATHER EXPENSIVE considering the real world cost is around R13 (€0.65/$0.80/£0.60) making the price 5x more expensive, and a rather big markup. Double or twice the price, sure. But five times the price when there is a supermarket within steps didn't make a ton of sense.
