Blackbeard's House - Kastri Crete

We (five adults) stayed for 15 days. The house was spacious and had everything needed for a comfortable extended stay—plenty of everything. All appliances were new. We were provided with extra towels and bedsheets whenever we needed them. The terrace in front is the best spot for summer, and we spent most of our time there when not at the beach. The host was fantastic: upon arrival, we received a welcome package with wine, chilled water, bread, marmalade, and coffee. The small sandy beach is just a three-minute walk away. One shop is right next door, and another is only four minutes away.

There was nothing about the house or the host that we didn't like. Kastri is a very small place with just two grocery stores, a few restaurants, and a very small beach. If you're looking for a place to party, stay in the north of Crete. But if you want some peace and quiet, this is the perfect spot.

Clean, location, totally stocked kitchen, very spacious without being too big. Everything with in walking distance. Wonderful pomegranate and orange trees loaded front yard.

Would have given a 10, but sadly toilet needs to be completely changed out! Flushing is hit or miss and very old fashion bowl which leaves much to be desired. Please change, your renters will really appreciate it.

This place is a gem. I would have given it 10stars if the shower had not been in the bath. Having said that it's obvious the place is in the process of being renovated, so in time there may well be a new bathroom. In the meantime don't let that put you off. It is well equipped, beautiful floors, doors and the front porch is incredible with a view onto the sea. Despite its location in the centre of the village it is a calm spot (we were there in September) The shop next door has everything you need to make a meal, fresh veg, eggs, pasta, rice etc. There is a bakery with the most delicious donuts! And bread. Eating out is not prohibitive with a meal costing around 10€ a head. There were basic items here too, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, loo paper, shampoo, soap, coffee, cleaning products etc which was very welcome. We replaced what we used up. A very fair system. The photos are exactly what you get. The view is better and the sunsets are incredible.

The property is specious, sparkling clean, well equipped with everything including a great range of cooking facilities, shampoo, etc

The property has a well-equipped kitchen. However the supermarkets in the village have very limited range of products. I would recommend doing food shopping on your way to the village. Although tavernas in the village have excellent food and are very cheap, I still needed to cook for my infant.
