Olde Judge Mansion B&B

We fled this property within 20 minutes of checking in. It was noisy outside with car blasting music and racing motorcycles. When I TRIED to ask the owner, Tina, if we could change rooms to one in the back of the house, she became aggressive, defensive, eventually escalating to banging on our door, and suggesting that she "wouldn't be offended if we leave." We did, and I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. I was there with my child, and it was frightening!

The property is on a busy street, and is VERY NOISY. Worse still... the owner became aggressive and wouldn't even let me ask my question... simply starting talking and then shouting over me. I've never experienced something like this! She seemed a bit "off"... not sure what was going on with her, but it was definitely NOT a place I was going to stay!

All! Stay away from this place unless you have no other choice. We had to stay only because all other places were fully booked. Everything just came from a different era: Bathrooms on a different floor! Room is super noisy.. Aircon broken. No staff available on site. Many stairs to lift luggage. Beds are too soft. Etc , etc.

Been too long since I slept in a city. I wasn't prepared for the traffic noise.

Our Breakfast was made to order by the owner. Anything from eggs, pancakes or French toast. Additionally pastries, juice, & coffee along with other breakfast foods were available that you can help yourself to. I especially appreciated being served on china dinnerware. And cloth napkins as well!The owner was very hospitable and freely interacted with her guests.

The traffic noise outside our room was a bit noisy. Of course that could not be helped since the Inn was on a somewhat busy street. And it did calm down by the time we settled in for the night.

Anything good was offset by the very rude and clearly unsympathetic reply to my letter of concern BEFORE I placed a review.

LOTS of revving motorcyles and loud cars all through the night. Literally impossible to sleep even with air conditioner constantly running. It said shared bathroom but the bath was down the stairs, through the foyer, through the parlor, through the dining room where guests eat, and past the kitchen. There were toiletries on the sink and shower that had been there a while. Did not stay second night d/t conditions. Tried to address with owner before leaving review and she was rude and insolent. Her replies were rambling and unrelated to our concerns. Part of her reply,"This is a city so the next time you make accommodations make sure you make it in the country on a farm if you want quiet there you may hear the chickens who knows maybe that will bother you," Another reply about the motorcycles and cars all night with booming stereos,"you were from Rochester I think they have cars in Rochester also." Although at breakfast she told us that motorcycles were a big problem and most of them were unregistered. The neighborhood was 'sketchy' and as we reached the front door in the evening we were approached by two younger men off the street. We quickly went inside.

It was very homey. It felt like visiting a friend's grandmother's house or something. The decor was beautiful and everything felt cozy. The breakfasts were wonderful, and the snack bar was a lovely touch! Our host was also very engaging! She was fun to talk to and very nice. The rooms themselves were great as well. There were even board games to borrow. Overall an amazing place!

Low price for Saratoga Springs region at that period of the year. Excellent, copious breakfast made to order. Very pleasant host.

Bathroom was private but distant from bedroom. No way to lock the bathroom door when not using it. Very average surroundings. Noisy A/C

The owner Tina is an exceptional host. The mansion was comfortable, and the breakfast table was wonderfully set with fresh fruit, pastries, assorted teas, and coffee! The scrambled eggs were fresh, with bacon and assorted loaves of bread for toast. would I stay there again? Of course! There is no better place to stay than at the Old Judge Mansion B&B.
