Secluded Island Retreat - in the heart of the Anchorage

Great location. Lovely and clean. Very comfortable pad for a few days. An enjoyable stay.

The decor was very calming and the apartment is a 2 minute walk to the harbour .

Just got back from a 2 night stay, the apartment was immaculate. Lovely little touches (bottle of fizz in the fridge, fresh cleaning supplies, and extensive instructions for the hob and oven) hosts where on hand if needed with multiple ways to get in touch, but honestly they provided all the information needed so didn't need to bother them. Location was brilliant, 3 mins drive to Tesco extra big co op another minute down the road. The coast Inn was walkable and the food looked amazing (I decided to cook at the apartment and had everything I needed.) Very secluded and peaceful whilst still having easy access to local amenities. The only negative is we didn't book longer. Would highly recommend and already looking at going back.

Chopped knives could be sharper although could be used

We hoped for a relaxing break. We got so much more. West Mersea is a small, very friendly community and offers some great restaurants. We would recommend Seafood at Dawn and the Coast Inn, which are just around the corner from the apartment. The apartment itself is lovely, and the hosts David and Anne were helpful, when needed, but not intrusive. The apartment was the cleanest we have ever stayed in, and trust me, we have stayed in a lot. It is well equipped and decorated/designed to a high standard. The parking space is a great bonus, and the balcony adds an outside space to relax enjoy on a warm day. Can't recommend enough.

A local Barn Owl was a little loud one night and Luna, our dog, has said that a chairlift would be appreciated, especially after a long walk. In essence, absolutely nothing. Thank you.
