"Lovely setting and beautiful home and garden spoilt by a very poorly equipped kitchen. We cut our stay short by 2 days."

Beautiful location and hostess very friendly and helpful

It appears no notice take of previous complaints about kitchen being under equipped as no change or improvement at all! Teaspoons still plastic, no dish towels etc. bath towels very old and grubby

"Eventful"

6.0

Great and stylish old-style house with spacious bedrooms and a beautiful yard. There was a lot of quite old but very well-preserved furniture that gave the house a charming museum-like atmosphere, in a good way. Most importantly, the elderly couple who welcomed us were absolutely wonderful — very kind, warm, and helpful.

Google Maps leads you to the wrong location, around one kilometer away in another village. The owners should update and correct this. I made a reservation for 6 people, but apparently the booking showed only 2 people on their side. I'm not sure where the mistake happened. Thankfully, the elderly couple who met us were extremely helpful, kind, and understanding. The issue was eventually resolved after a couple of hours of phone calls and using Google Translate. The warm water supply was enough for only one or two people to shower. We were a group of six. This is probably the only real deal-breaker for this property. I cannot really recommend it for larger groups unless this issue is addressed, as reliable hot water is a basic expectation. The owners should really look into improving this. The gas stove was not working (possibly there was no gas).

"Beautiful area, but would not stay in that house again"

5.0

The host was very nice but didn’t not speak any English so we made due with google translate as much as possible, but wasn't great. The hills around are beautiful and the Tuscan countryside was calm, quiet and peaceful. Easy to drive to Certaldo and San Gimigiano which are beautiful.

Personally, I didn’t like the stay, but nothing to do with the host. The house is adjacent to where the host lives and I was under the impression I would get the place to ourselves, didn't feel private we had the place to ourselves. The price is really quite high for what you get in my opinion. The house has literally nothing. You don’t even get toilet paper. I feel like paying the price per night that we paid, at least toilet paper could be offered. I am comparing to what you get in other countries. Which is soap, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner. Sometimes stuff for the kitchen like olive oil and salt and pepper.  The kitchen has some old knives and a frying pan and some odd bits, but it’s all old stuff. Nothing that I would ever have in my kitchen. Plastic spoons and one metal tea spoon. You get old towels, old sheets, old blankets. Maybe for some people it has its charm, but for me, compared to the quality of houses in other European and rest of the world houses for this price level, everything felt cheap and unnecessarily slimmed down to its bare minimum. Like a massive cash cow with no soul behind it. The house is absolutely filled with trinkets and paintings and all sorts so there’s a lot going on there but didn’t really make me feel at home. It made me feel like I was in someone else’s home that I broke into rather than someone preparing for me to stay here and feel like I’ve got everything to be comfortable.  The main supermarket is 10min drive away so if you forget to buy something, like soap or milk, you are pretty stuck and have to go out again.  In other places not only you get toilet paper, usual toiletries, but also little touches like milk in the fridge, a nice bread, or even a wine bottle. I expected none such luxury items but just to give examples.  I will not be returning and would not recommend, unfortunately. Not for me.

"Wonderful quaint villa ideally located in Tuscany"

8.0

Breakfast not included. Location was awesome as in the middle of Tuscany. Very quaint villa with beautiful frescoes on wall , antique furniture, 4 bedrooms each with balcony. Nearby town with very nice grocery. Highly recommend nearby hiking trail along Sarno river (Dibaratto waterfall)

Kitchen sparse (plates, etc sufficient for our 4). Moca pots all unusable (ie NO coffee). Towels skimpy (garage sale-ish) and should be updated. Need Google translate to communicate (unless Italian)

"Secluded, beautiful, relaxing"

10.0

Vanna was a great host! Incredibly kind! The property was beautiful- it gives authentic old Italian vibes. Make sure to bring your own amenities (soap, hairdryer, iron, etc). It’s a little far from everything but that’s why we loved it so much.

No air conditioning :(
