"Holt is a very special destination."

8.0

Its position near the town centre

The rear garden, which could be a pleasant asset, is a wasted empty space. With little development it could be an attractive open air eating area.

"Felt like a holiday cottage from the 1970’s."

5.0

We liked its position in the town of Holt and that it had allocated parking and an enclosed garden and was dog friendly.

The property looked worn and tired with mis-matched odd bits of furniture and an old carpet in the sitting room. The bath had no water pressure so was not usable unless you waited over 15 minutes for it to fill up. The loo seat in the shower room was cracked and this we reported. I felt the whole appearance of the cottage was poor with the back garden being very untidy with dead leaves and with some dead plants noted and I picked up a dog poo prior to letting our own dog out there. It was not cosy and inviting but very dated and rather depressing. The chimney has obviously not got a cover on it because a fully grown pigeon fell down the chimney on our first evening and was scrabbling and flapping around just above where the chimney area joins the fireplace which had been stuffed with a plastic bag. I became quite distressed about this. Luckily my husband managed to pull out the plastic stuffing and get hold of the pigeon and release it outside but soot and debris came with it and it took me over half an hour to wash surfaces and vacuum as a thin layer of soot settled over areas of the room. Also it does not state in the description that the parking is not at the house but further down the lane. We only discovered this when we had paid and received our arrival instructions.

Back garden a mess, no garden chairs just a table, needed a real tidy up
