No4 Low House Cottages

The beds were exceptionally comfortable, the bathroom was very modern and there was plenty of hot water (too hot!), perhaps just a bit on the small side and not much space to put your toilet bag. The location was great, and on 2 days we did not have to take the car, as the walks and lake were at walking distance. The kitchen was very spacious and relatively well equipped. The host provided some snacks and milk upon arrival, which were very well appreciated. The house is very close to the town centre and its shops/pubs/restaurants. It was good to have parking space allocated to the property at the rear of the house (which was our entry point).

I don't think I can list anything here in fairness, but there was an overall feeling of being on a hotel-like place, rather than a house-like place; did not have the "cozy" factor that we have seen in other properties from Booking. Nevertheless, we had all we needed and were comfortable for the trip. The hot water on the shower was too hot and we could not figure out how to turn it a bit colder at first (the control had reached the minimum temperature) and the house was a bit cold the first night, but then they both got better and we enjoyed our stay. We had phone numbers of the host, but did not contact them as it was not needed.

Honestly this place exceeded expectations. I thought it looked fairly nice from the photos but mostly it was a great price. But it was incredible. Much much better than expected, really comfortable bedrooms with dressing gowns to wear. Luxurious shower in a spotless bathroom. Well equipped kitchen and lovely living room for us to relax in. Easy walking distance to shops, pubs and stunning hikes, and only a short drive to Helvellyn. Probably my favourite place I've stayed in the lake District.

The cottage was fantastic, had everything that we needed plus more. It was very clean and the host Frances was very friendly when she handed over the keys. The cottage was in a perfect location, walks on the door step. Also there were quite a few pubs only minutes away. Frances also left a welcoming pack which was very much appreciated. The cottage was like a home from home, very clean and well equipped, cosy with the log fire and such help staff. Coniston is a beautiful place with lots of lovely walks and friendly people.

There was nothing that we didn't like. 10/10. Was a lovely 3 night stay, great value for money, we would recommend this property to everybody.

Great cottage close to all the village amenities. Fantastic communication from the host and a lovely welcome pack. Will be back
