Watkin - Snowdon Cabins - cozy chalet - Glan Gwna, Caernarfon

nstructions on arrival at the property were concise and straightforward. We parked the car in front of the cabin which made it very easy to move our luggage inside. The location is fantastic and the bar and cafe are a couple of minutes walk away. There’s a river/stream that runs through the park which was really nice to walk along with the dog. Caenarfon is a 5 minute drive away and it’s one straight road to it. We couldn’t have picked a better location it felt central to everything we wanted. The property was spotless and we had zero issues during our stay. The hosts were very helpful and advised if we needed anything then just to contact them. There are two bedrooms both with big double beds. The mattresses are different for each bed, one being firm and one soft which suited us perfectly as we could pick the one we were most comfortable on. The couch in the living room was brand new and comfortable. We used the dining room chairs to put our legs up to make it more comfortable through the evening which made it feel more homely. The kitchen appeared to be recently refurbished and had everything we needed. The kettle looked brand no and not a single spot of lime scale which is the first thing I check when making a cup of tea! Table and chairs also spotless and comfortable. The couches had these small wooden tables on the arms to put your drinks and phone etc. It was small touches like these in the property which made it such a great stay. Television had Netflix loaded up on it and was a big size, 43’ I think. WiFi was great and password is in the handy booklet the hosts have put together about the property and things to do etc. There’s electric radiators in every room so you’ll never be cold. The radiators are lighting quick heating up as well and look brand new. The bathroom, again very clean. Bath & shower within the property great and considering it’s not an actual house I couldn’t believe how good the water pressure was in the shower.

The property could do with some tlc, especially the outside areas aswell as the inside. Also could have been cleaned a little better.

The park in which the cabin is located is lovely. Picturesque lake with colourful Rhododendron bushes surrounding it. And a river running down through the site.

Unfortunately our stay at this accommodation was awful. There was a significant amount of damp and mould throughout the property. This included both bedrooms and one bed had significant amounts of mould on the beds slats. We had slept on this bed (myself and a 7 year old child) for 2 nights without realising and we're horrified to uncover it. The cooker hob was cracked and damaged which was a huge safety concern and meant we could not use it. The shower is in a state of disrepair, with large holes in the wall, window broken to a point it could not be secured and mould. Towels were damp and had to be aired out before use. Majority of glasses, plates and bowls were dirty and had to be washed before use. We left a day before our check out date after realising we'd slept on a bed full of mould and uncovering so many issues. After contacting the owners they insisted they should have been given a chance to resolve the issues, but all issues raised should have been resolved before our arrival and any attempts to resolve them during our stay would have had significant impact on our stay. It truly spoilt what should have been a relaxing and fun time away for us as a family during half term. We were so disheartened by it. This accommodation is unsanitary and unsafe and should not be rented out until all matters have been resolved. EDIT This is a genuine review of our experience at this property. We are not scammers as alluded to in the owners response to our original review. We are a family who wanted to enjoy time away during half term. We also did not refuse a refund. We messaged the owners to discuss the appropriate refund. They gave one response and would not enter into further discussion. This is now being dealt with through booking.com

Self catering, but cafe on site with good food. Also bar with food available in the evening.

Bar on site, we were travelling with a dog and not able to sit inside with the dog. There was a canopied area outside but this was also the smoking area, not appropriate to eat there , bought this up with the staff but not particularly interested.

Lovely clean and homely chalet , perfect location and on site facilities.

Location was great!! Perfect for exploring Snowdon. Bed/bedding very comfortable.

Firstly it wasn’t well lit nor was the site, the sofa unfortunately quite uncomfortable. The site facilities were tired too.
