BUDGET BOX - Private Indoor Parking, Basic Amenities and Wifi

It is very very small, as advertised. Has a kitchenette but no table to eat (the outside garden is communal and if raining cannot use to eat our meals). The reservation included an indoor parking space. No instructions were given on how to access the garage, and the host never replied to our question about it via any of the contacts given (had to park outside for the duration of the stay).

Small but very well equiped. Everything we needed. Off street parking. Very central location. Great host.

I typically let bad experiences pass without comment – but not this time. The room is not much more than 5-6 m² (excluding bathroom), but the main issue is no real ventilation. The window can’t be properly opened due to counter and blinds, and the door can’t stay open because of a nearby garbage room. With no airflow, the room overheats in Ålesund’s 22 °C heat. Clammy synthetic bedding adds discomfort. The non-opening window could be a safety concern. Friendly host, but this cramped, airless “box” isn’t recommendable.

The shower is dangerous. The whole shower rail fell off while I was showering. The whole cubicle feels very unstable and wobbly as it is on tiny legs. Bunk ladder also needs to be secured to bed.

It was really clean, close to everything, and a huge plus with the parking spot.

The host was super responsive and made the check in experience easy. The room is exactly what it says on the tin and great value for money. The location is perfect right in the center.
