Lovely 2 bedroom apartment in the centre of Hawick

The location was great for my stay. The apartment was clean and nice.

The key and lock on the door were ancient. Very tricky to figure out how to maneuver the key to unlock the door. It would have been helpful if there were instructions and/or communication about this prior to arrival. In addition, the heat was not turned on before I arrived, and it got cold a couple of the nights I was there. I had to message the office, and they provided some vague answer about turning on the boiler that was located in a closet outside the front door. No such closet existed. If it did, I couldn't find it. They also mentioned that the switch to turn on the heat was in the kitchen. There were a few switches in the kitchen, none of which were labeled. Clearer instructions and/or someone from the office turning on the boiler before I arrived would have been great. Even if I could have located the boiler, I wouldn't trust myself to turn it on, as I am not mechanically inclined. I didn't understand why they didn't stop by themselves and turn it on for me. I would think as the owner, you wouldn't want some stranger messing with an expensive piece of equipment like a boiler. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The owner needs to prepare better for heat prior to the guest arrival and also provide better communication about the key/front door lock or simply switch it out for something more modern and less fussy.

Location, parking was available. Loved the living area, very comfortable and inviting The bedrooms and kitchen are small but exactly as described and perfect for our stay.

It was a surprise to find that there were 2 bedrooms AND a kitchen as the description on Booking.com seemed to have two different sets of descriptions for the one flat. Confusing! But we really thought the flat was very nice. The double bed was a bit small for 2(!) so we slept individually which worked well. Overall we were very pleased with the flat.

The on-road parking was, initially, a bit awkward finding a space to park, but was easier after the folks (working at B&M?) went home, and of course on the weekend it was fine. A couple of suggestions (NOT dislikes)..... A small Welcome Folder with info like the Wi-Fi codes, location of, and basic instruction for, the heating controls, and an introduction to places of interest in and around Hawick such as restaurants etc would be useful.
