Royal Kemala Villa - Jungle View with Private Pool

We booked that little "Villa" because of jungle feeling and private pool. Coordination of late arrival and access was simple made via Whatssapp. There´s enough parking space for a car and by a little walk down a sometimes mossy/slippery path you can reach the "Villa". Luggage or personal transportation by motorbike for check-in/out regularly offered by the managing and always helpful and supporting persons. The architectural nice build "Villa" fullfilled the expectation to be very private and in the green. Especially the noise of insects and lizards completed the natural feeling. Btw, there must be a "house-lizard" or "house-frog" of minimum 5kg ;-) in the roof - sometimes waking by unregular deep sounding noise :-) Breakfast available on additional cost. Motorbike rental available. Generally nice stay with weaknesses as following:

General we missed cleaningness. As we found our "Villa" by night with open glass sliding door and switched on lights, we had a lot of insects inside waiting us and motivated us to clean the bed intensive - maybe the service team used mosquito spray before... The wooden hut and especially pillows, linnen and blankets had a strong moldy smell, the big mosquito net was dirty (difficult to clean, I know...), the matt at the entry behind the sliding door was still dirty by personal before. We asked for a replacement matt, what was also not clean from beginning... The pool was (mid January) a bit cool - and its top ponds/bassins dirty by leaves and dead rain worms. General it is not natural and there´s a pump for the water cycle to be switched on individualy - as we switched it of by mistake with the outside lamps without knowledge of that function... My girl-friend complained generally on the long walking path to the "Villa"/hut. We rented a motor-bike for one day to find a parking slot at Ubud as impossible to find one for a car. The tires of the motorbike were totally worn (I´d been scary to drive with it on rainy roads and on the mossy path to the Villa") and we got used helmets - heavily used by view, one of them enormous stinky! Nowadays as inside materials in helmets could be removed and washed this should not appear! Unfortunaltely no cleaning equipment in the hut. We missed a little fridge as well as -minimum- a chair or better also an additional desk for the laptop for working purposes. There´s at least space enough.

The location was perfect....quiet...peaceful & very good view of the jungle. The villa was unique & quirky & beautiful, & had everything we needed. Made (the host) was very friendly & helpful & nothing was too much for him. He organised a day trip for us with Ricky, who was very friendly & informative. Made's mum prepared a lovely breakfast for us as well.

Access to villa was a bit steep but was worth it.

Nice views and private pool

Infrastructure need to improve . Bugs getting in . Old air-conditioning. Need lifts or something deep in middle of no where hard to put luggage there

The residence is even better in real life than on pictures ! The pool and waterfalls are magnificient and you get a movie like jungle view from the pool... in one word amazing !!

There could be some more dishes and maybe a little fridge but all in all great !

My time at Royal Kemala Villa was like a dream. The place was amazing, with beautiful views and so peaceful. It was a nice change from busy Ubud. It was perfect for chilling out and having some quiet time away from the usual tourist crowds.

If you love nature this is your place. You are in the middle of the jungle, you have to walk for 5 minutes up and down to reach the villa but it's worth it! The morning with the greenery and the jungle sounds is sublime. The breakfast in the nature was so delicious!

Everything was perfect. Just the bed net was a bit dirty but the owner sent someone to clean it in 10 minutes. You will definitely see some insects and animals but nothing dangerous or harmful, it's normal because you are literally in the jungle.
