"Needs some work but was a beautiful place to stay."

8.0

The location and views were amazing, kitchen was well equipped and the gift basket on arrival was brilliant

There was some damp issues. Some of the furniture was damaged. Most of the shower heads could of been replaced but did work. Some windows wouldn't open or couldn't be left open. Light on the stairs at the top was flickering. Towels were too small.

"Very enjoyable - temporary home from home!"

8.0

Lots of room and flexibility for sleeping arrangements. Welcome pack and toiletries useful and of a very good standard. Good laundry facilities.and bathrooms. Kitchen well stocked with crockery, cutlery and pans. Fantastic location. Bright and airy. Friendly information booklet, lots of useful info and positive requests rather than “Do not ….” Extra set of keys very useful

Couldn’t get any hot water in kitchen. Sitting room is large and could benefit from another table lamp, lighting at night a bit harsh with reliance on ceiling lights. I was in middle floor front room - no bedside table on my side due to space restriction but annoying not to have somewhere to put things - glasses, phone, glass of water etc. Also no bedside light option or socket for phone charging. Ironing board needs new cover.

"Lovely big if somewhat tired house and parking was a bit of a problem"

7.0

The size

A lovely big property ideally suited to a large group. Lots of beds and bathrooms so can easily accommodate two families with separate facilities. Superb location and breathtaking views. A bit tired in terms of decor but comfortable. There are two absolutely super double bedrooms with great views but then compared to them a less impressive double at the back of the property so drawing straws might be needed! We didn’t use the room with four bunks. One slight issue that I hadn’t known about was that there’s a separate apartment in the ground floor as you enter. Not necessarily a big issue but I thought I’d booked the whole property. By chance I saw the couple who were staying in the apartment and a joke was made about us not wearing heavy boots. I’m positive this was a joke but we spent the rest of the week being super conscious about the volume of the TV, our voices and moving the dining chairs. Also it meant we had to climb an additional floor even to get to our accommodation - after a steep walk up the hill! More importantly the biggest issue for me was parking. Although we’d been told we could park on the road even if not in front of the house, there was absolutely no parking when we arrived. After close to 6 hours travel it was stressful having to drive round and find somewhere else and then traipse back and forth to the car to unload. We found a closer space a few hours later but when my daughter arrived the next day, she had exactly the same problem. This would put me off booking again. All that said, Bond Holiday Lets were great in terms of communications and there was a nice welcome pack for us.

"A great place to stay with access directly into the town if you're fit and healthy"

7.0

The house was big, and all the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, which was great. It was possible to walk into the town (although the walk back up was a bit of a struggle for some of our party), and there's a great park just round the corner for walking the dogs and just walking. There was a pretty well stocked kitchen and the team left me a bottle of bubbly for my birthday, which was a welcome and lovely touch.

I'm sure we knew that the house was at the top of a steep hill, and that there were three floors to it, but it was a bit of a shock when we arrived, and we had to drive down to the town most of the time because some of our party really struggled with the hill. The house was a bit tired and needs some maintenance work - some of the windows wouldn't open, one of them wouldn't close. A few of the doors rattled a bit in the frames (kitchen roll was a good temporary fix). The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, but the floor in the living room wasn't, and the dishwasher was pretty grim, too - we gave it a quick rinse cycle before we put anything in it, but I'm not sure anyone else has ever done that!
