The Oak Studio -Self contained one bed studio flat

Avoid this flat. It is extremely dirty and has a bedbug infestation. The sheets and towels were dirty upon arrival. The sheets had blood stains from bed bugs, the towels were stained, and there were multiple "signs" of previous guests. By night 2 and night 3 I was covered in bed bug bites. Reviews across sites confirm the same findings from other guests This flat should be de-listed from Booking.com.

The only good thing about the property was the location, but trust me, not even that is worth it!!

There were red flags the entire time about this property and its cleanliness, which I was able to ignore until we found LITERAL BED BUGS! The place is in need of an obviously referb, even small would help and some simple and obvious cleaning was missed, like cobwebs on the windows, stains on walls and handprints around like the headboard. Next red flag was finding a damp towel left hanging on the hook on the back of the bathroom door, clearly left from the previous guests or even cleaner. Again, I let it go, as it was a last minute and cheap booking (even though price shouldn’t define cleanliness). It’s clear that a lot of the stains etc aren’t just someone ‘missing’ a spot, just that they don’t care. Despite these, it seemed generally clean so we let it go. Only to find when we came home later and getting ready for bed, that BED BUGS were crawling on the bed!! One huge, one small and god knows how many more. We immediately tried to find accommodation elsewhere, but as it was about 2am we were unable to find anywhere, so we were forced to wait in the accommodation until we could get a coach back to London at 4am. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REFUND FOR THIS AND HAVE BEEN BRUSHED OFF BY THE HOST!! How booking.com let this property (and the other rooms in the property) be and stay on this platform is criminal!! If this were a hotel, they would be shut down by the health inspector!! Just disgusting!

Brilliant location, just at a road off the end of Botley road which is quiet now because of the roadworks, but would be quiet anyway due to it being a side road. Good check in instructions and clean and tidy, steep stairs though.

A bit hot as it is the top floor.

the area is very good

it is true the walls are thin but for me it is not a problem
