Skunu 6 elegant studio apartments in Riga old town

Downtown location - very convenient for walking around the old town.

When the outside temperature drops below -10 degrees Celsius it cold in the apartment - even when switching on the extra heater provided. I am expecting a detergent for dish washing in the kitchen - it was missing. The fan in the bathroom switches on sporadically, perhaps automatically - but this insufficient. Timer based switch would be better. Early checking was not possible despite the apartment being empty. Our room was about the night venue that was closing at 3am in the morning, and there was noise from the street even though the windows were closed. There are multiple units rented out in the building and the booking website is not super transparent in providing information about exactly what unit one is booking. No microwave. Cheap pan that was deformed therefore the heat transfer from the stove is poor. Slow reaction to my messages before the stay. Checkin instruction obtained only the morning we were already enroute - I prefer to get it the night before.

Access was a bit stressful due to my difficulties in dealing with modern technology. Would prefer easier access to all codes etc

Everything about this apartment is top notch. It's very spacious (We stayed in Superior Apartment), the ambiance, the color, the decor, the facilities, the cleanliness, the warmth etc are 10/10. The best thing is the location. It's in the heart of the old town. The proximity of everything is just some steps away.

It's our preference: an apartment should have a microwave oven as due to winter, the days are short and terribly cold, sometimes we bring foods from restaurants and eat up later by warming 'em up but it only lacks microwave oven. We did not check whether they provide it or not, so its our mistake not checking it before booking the apartment. They have stove top though. So, we suggest to put a microwave as there's plenty of space in the kitchen area. This lack can't degrade the rating of the apartment. It's still 10 out of 10 from our side 😊 Another thing I should point out that the responses of the host are not quick like other apartments we've stayed. They respond very late, sometimes we've got response after a day or two.

Centralised and easy to get around. The area was filled with shops and food.

No life but that is fine.
