CHA lovely little getaway with everything you need. Modernised house with great furniture, little kitchen, nice bathroom with shower. Very quiet which is great after a busy day in the city. Communication was excellent, thank you so much Jody! Lovely clean sheets and soft pillows, Wi-Fi works perfectly, very comfy couch to enjoy Harry Potter Movies if you are in the mood.
The stairs are quiet narrow so if you have trouble on your feet this might not be the right choice for you. It is some distance to Watford Junction, we used Uber or Taxi and paid 8-12 £ per trip. You also can use the bus and walk though. We first couldn't find the entrance, you might want to navigate to No.7 and 15 is on the back. These are minor complaints, I would come back and stay here anytime again!
GBThe Sapphire Retreat was ideal for our family (2 adults & 2 teens), as it was big enough for everyone to either come together or have their own space. It was quite alot of stairs and whilst this wasn't an issue for us, it may be for families with smaller children. It was lovely, warm and modern with all the facilities we needed. Jody, the host, was great when we had a query (we couldn't work the lock on the door but was given great instructions and a quick reply!) and checked how we had settled after our first night there. The location was literally a 10 minute drive to the Harry Potter Studios and around the same to Watford Junction Station, which made transport to and from Central London really simple. There is a parking space available, which we used and were very grateful on, but you have to rely on the considerate parking of others in order to use it, so sometimes it was a bit of a squeeze!
Jody provided fantastic directions to the house, without which we would have never found it. The path to the front door isn't very well lit and uneven in places which made navigating it in the dark a bit difficult.
