StayVista at The Ganga House - Holy River Varanasi

Likes - Caretaker Anilji , view, facility Dislikes - access road, customer service from Stayvista was good but can be better

Everything about this guest house was perfect from start to finish, each floor has a wonderful view overlooking The Ganges and the roof terrace is an exceptionally beautiful area to watch the World go by from. Anil the caretaker is always on hand to help with anything you require, he’s a charming character too. Ankit the hotel manager met us at the airport taxi and took us by boat to the hotel, which was an extremely pleasant surprise. We even had a call from the owner upon arrival to introduce herself and check that we were satisfied with everything. The Ganga house is a true credit to everyone involved with your stay. Highly recommended. Thank you providing that extra bit of magic to our visit to Varanasi.

All was perfect.

The caretaker - Anil was on hand all the time to help. He helped navigate our way round Varanasi. He kept the apartment clean and safe. We weer a party of 3 adults. The location is ideal with views from 3 rooms of the Gangha.

I would not say did not like but the risksaws dont go as far the apartment because of the windy alleywase but this was not a issue for us.

Not sure where to start, but it was one of the most stressful stays I've ever had for a place (not to mention a luxury stay) that was booked on booking.com. I highly recommend booking.com to remove this listing till the description is updated with facts. - Booking isn't confirmed till you go through a bunch of logistics and loop holes and communication is horrible - Address for the property is wrong on google maps and you don't get right address till you get in touch with the caretakers - The location isn't easily accessible by car, and the listing doesn't say so - The listing doesn't say that it's a shared property (with no privacy) when you book a 2 bedroom villa. It's a 4 bed room property where 2 bedrooms have no attached bathrooms. It's probably ok if you book a whole villa, but if you book just a two bedroom villa as listed here and traveling with kids, expect your kids to share a bathroom on a different floor with strangers and with caretaker spending the night there and with the possibiliy of sharing it with other strangers, it is quite unsafe for kids in the second bedroom. - Greedy and ever harassing maintenance people. I booked a 2 bedroom villa and they wanted to double charge for the whole villa and kept sharing a paytm link to make a payment - No privacy. Cameras inside the property. A caretaker is always there staring (while also helping) at the occupants - Wifi doesn't work Worst of all: - Caretaker locks the main door from outside (with a padlock) when he leaves the property to get some dinner, with guests sleeping inside the property. God forbid there is an emergency or a fire hazard, you can't leave the property. When asked, the caretaker said, he waits till the guests sleep and then he locks the main door from outsides and usually returns in an hr or two.

I like the view from each room, Property was fairly new and nicely maintain, care taker is very much helpful.

Car / E-rickshaw can't reach to the property, from the main road it's 5/7 min walk from narrow street of Varanasi to reach the property. if you have senior citizen with you then you should consider this point.
