Pukekohe Farm House 5min to Town Centre

To be honest, I was a bit nervous about this property, as it has a mixed bag of reviews. But as we were staying for three nights, and our group was made up of my husband and me, our 18 year old daughter, and my 86 year old mother, I wanted somewhere that was spacious, had plenty of room when we were together, but also, our own space if we wanted it, something this property has: - two living areas, two shower rooms and toilets, and generously sized bedrooms. Is it a five star motel? No. Is it a bit tired looking? Sure. But, did this in anyway make a difference to our satisfaction with this property? Not at all. What mattered is that it was clean, with everything that was required for a comfortable stay. And best of all it cost us easily half of what a motel would have charged. I would also add that the host was very accommodating to meet the needs of my 86 year old mother, for which I was very grateful. While we were in Pukekohe for a specific reason and are not likely to need to stay again, nonetheless, if we were looking for accommodation in Pukekohe, we would happily stay here again.

A little bit more attention to detail would be appreciated, eg wall lights beside each other, one had cool lightbulb, the other had warm lightbulb. The sheet on one of the beds wasn't big enough, was just sitting on mattress, couldn't be tucked in, and as other reviewers have pointed out there was no top sheet, even though the host has commented that the duvet covers are washed every time.

There was no hot water. Not sure if the water cylinder was working. Checked that the power was on to the cylinder, no fuses blown etc etc but no hot water. also the upstairs bedroom had a sheet and duvet that only just covered the bed. They were so small you could not tuck them in. The grounds were very unkept, long grass which looked like it hadnt been cut for months.. The place could do with some TLC. The shower beside the garage had matted hair in the shower floor so we were unsure if this had even been cleaned

Very quiet location. Very spacious, plenty of room for luggage in bedrooms. Very fair with the cost of accommodation as there are a few maintenance issues that need some attention.

We actually thought it was ok, but it does need some TLC as some appliances are a bit tired. We did advise the owners re the shower in the main bathroom and they responded quickly so that is reassuring. 3 of our guests were not able to come and the house had another bathroom, but had we all been there it would have been challenging. The fridge freezer didn't seem to be freezing, and the dishwasher had broken wheels so pulling out the tray was hard when dishes were loaded up. Just little things like lights not working above sink, no tea towels, or hand towels, plug for sink. For some people it might not be a place you'd want to stay, but I think just a few wee tweeks, and a check and fix on a few safety things it would be a good place to stay.
