Starhost - Villa il Poggio Amalfi Coast with pool, garden and terrace

We loved all of the sitting and garden areas, sparkling lights over Salerno at night from the pool area, walk to the beautiful village of Vietri, wineries in the Hills beyond, and of course the Amalfi coast!

First, we booked Vietri so we could enjoy the Amalfi coast without the crush of crowds and this villa worked perfectly. Gated and tucked away on a hill off the main road, it felt safe and private, with ample parking. Within acceptable driving distance to other westerly locales and less than 30 minutes to the Pompeii ruins, it provided an ideal location and setting for a relaxing home base. The villa is lovely, with lots of natural light and amazing grounds. We spent most of our time outside in the many sitting areas. The sweeping sea views are gorgeous and our small party of 3 didn’t feel lost in the villa, as the detached cabana provides additional sleeping and living areas, maintaining a cozy feel in the main house. Our hosts, Mara and Angelo, were wonderful and provided some lovely welcome amenities. Angelo was always extremely responsive and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment, including help with booking a personal chef for our daughter’s birthday, excursions and restaurant recommendations. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely book again! NOTE: The Port of Salerno is directly below the villa’s overlook. Expect some maritime activity and noise. We actually enjoyed watching the cruise ships and container ships do their thing! And don’t miss charming Vietri and the huge ceramics shop at the bottom of the hill!

Grocery stores not super convenient.
