The Old Deanery

The property looks beautiful from the outside and it’s in a great position for walking around Ripon with the Cathedral just opposite.

We booked a double superior room and didn’t expect cracked bathroom tiles or just a shower sheet around a bath. However the staff were lovely. I wasn’t impressed with the breakfast as my favourite,eggs florentine or anything like poached egg or eggs Benedict wasn’t on the menu. My husband is also a true Yorkshire man and love’s his good old English breakfast. This breakfast, the Chefs signature breakfast was very unusual/different tasted lovely but not really our cup of tea.

Our room was cancelled the day before due to a flooding issue.

I received a phone call the day before we travelled stating the room wasn't available due to a flood. We were offered a superior room at the Ripon Inn which we accepted. On arrival at the Ripon Inn we were told that we had been booked into a standard double, not a superior as promised and at a much cheaper cost. Thankfully staff at the Ripon Inn rectified the problem after some switching around. We feel completely let down by The Deanery and the offer they put to us. The Ripon Inn and staff were superb!

I didn't stay overnight due to an unforseen issue in the room booked but the staff quickly arranged alternative accommodation but we did go back to the old deanery as I wanted to experience the breakfast which was delicious and quite different

Needed more tea, coffee and milk in the room

We loved the quirky accommodation whilst still retaining its charm and historic presence. Great location couldnt be much closer to the centre if we had tried. Will certainly be returning.
