Gorgeous 1 bedroom & private ensuite in Central Windsor home with FREE PARKING

Handy to Heathrow airport via rental car. Attractive decor. Nice pub down the road to enjoy a meal.

Unfortunately we arrived in the midst of a heat wave. The small room was on the third floor up narrow steep stairs, and very hot. The host kindly went out to purchase a fan for our use, which we appreciated.

the location was as detailed; this was the only thing that the room in Taras's house benefits from free parking which is on street parking if you can get a space, you may be down the road from the house.

The loft room was not fit for purpose - each stair is so narrow and steep, that you have to walk sideways with your belongings, very dangerous. Would it pass building regulations? The room has two large velux windows without blinds for sleeping, be prepared to wake at 4am when the light comes in. There is NO storage for your belongings, not even a chest of drawers- Tara the host was aware we were booking for Royal Ascot event for husbands 65th birthday. We were told to hang our clothes on the bathroom doorway. I had earlier transferred her money to get my husband champagne and chocolates for the room- the Maltesers where a melted mess when we arrived in the thirty-degree heat of the loft room (no fridge to use ) . No glasses, warm champagne. No where to open a suitcase or store one. We asked if there was another room for storage and told no. There was no TV. The shower door had a scraping noise when opened, the shampoo was a half-used bottle. There is dirty grout up the shower walls. On asking we were told we did not have use of any other part of the house. On the first day we arrived ( we didn't even unpack) we told Tara why we couldn't stay in her house having been upstairs to find the issues raised, she agreed that the room was too hot for anyone to sleep in, stating the previous guests had also told her this, she said she would organize a refund for our £500 via Booking .com. and apologized to us. We had to obtain new accommodation at short notice for our three-night stay which cost £1300. I have messaged Tara Phillips on a number of occasions via Booking.com site asking for her to update us on my refund, no refund has been made to us, and she has ignored our messages. I have made a complaint via Booking .com. Unfortunately, we believed what Tara said, never thinking she had no intention of refunding our money.

Me and my sister had a great time in Windsor. Tara greeted us warmly on our arrival and showed us to our room. She assured us that we could always reach her and left us a self-written card with the most important information. The room is clean, lovingly furnished and has everything you could possibly need. In short, our stay with Tara and Tom couldn't have been better.
