Sunny Cottage - Close to Airport & Beach

Lovely accommodation with all the things you need to cook if you want to. Very close (not even 5 min walk)to the beach and dairy, fish and chips shops and cafe right across the road. They provided cereals, milk, coffee and tea which is a nice touch. Very comfortable bed too.

The owner is responsive and nice. If you've a car the location is OK, otherwise choose something else as it's close to the airport and takes 45min walking to reach the centre. The flat has everything you need to cook like utensils, pots, pans. If you need to cook, yes this is good. There is a heating/air conditioning system. The bed was very comfy and the sheets were cleaned. No much noise from outside, just close all the doors windows etc.

What puts us down and I would rate this property a solid 6 (but didn't want to be too bad) was the smell or garlic and "closed rooms" or something not deep cleaned. We open the windows and door for a while everyday but still the smell was there. There were few things not cleaned like all the fans and filters that must be why or maybe the couch who knows. As other said the chairs are uncomfortable. There is no proper tea/kitchen towel to dry the dishes, the one provided was very small and thin. After reading all reviews we know she won't take this comment well but this is true.

Wonderful, clean and very comfortable cottage in a great location. The cottage is nice and private. The Host is absolutlely wonderfull! Due to a family emergency I needed to cut the trip short and the Host was amazing, organising an earlier checkout for me. Next time I am in Napier I will be sure to stay again.

facilities were good .everything was supplied..good for short stays.good for young to middle aged and fully mobile.

highly varnished floor was slippery .shower floor was slippery.couch was too low to sit on.needs replacing with two chairs. had to sit on hard chairs day and night.

Generous supplies of muesli, 1 litre bottle of whole milk (we use low fat and soy, so supplied our own), containers of stewed fruit, etc. Coffee plunger and ground coffee, and a capsule coffee maker supplied. High quality linen on bed. Simple, elegant decorations. Sunny main room of this compact cottage. Easy drive to town (or bus option), excellent local walking tracks especially for bird watchers.

Folding suitcase racks would be useful - no space in bedroom for cases. For longer stays like ours, it would be better if the locked cupboard in bedroom with supplies for cottage was cleared for visitor use.
