Stars on State in the Heart of Downtown

The property was not really clean. I went to the store and got stuff to clean because I didn’t feel comfortable at all.. I even had to buy sheets & a blanket for the bed because they didn’t look like they were washed. Some of the pillows didn’t have pillow cases and they were dirty.. the floors were extremely sticky and not clean enough to walk on in socks or without shoes. After I cleaned the bath tubs, the sink, toilet, counter tops, and changed the beds, I felt a lot more comfortable, relaxed, and able to sleep well. I’m not sure about the WiFi situation because according to the booking site it says there is free WiFi and there is also a sign with the WiFi code on it but the WiFi was off. Whenever we tried to watch tv it says the WiFi account was “voluntarily suspended” with AT&T, I messaged the host about this and they didn’t respond so I’m not sure if we’re suppose to pay for it or how that works, but the property is very expensive I feel like WiFi should be included (it says it’s included and free when you book) especially since I had to clean and buy bedding..

The location was amazing. It was a quick walk to my favorite downtown restaurants and a quick drive to the venue where the Mardi Gras ball I was attending was being held. The location was very unassuming you wouldn't think that there would be apartments nestled into this area. I didn't think the space was going to be that big and it was breathtaking. The decor was super nice. I loved the color scheme. The chairs were so comfortable in the master bedroom. I was able to relax and get some work done after being out on the town the night before.

The floors were a little dirty and the apartment needed to be aired out but all in all it was a fantastic find. The area is pretty quiet until everyone gets up in the early morning hours for work. Both bed frames in the bedrooms were very wobbly, possibly even broken. We were afraid they were going to break. As long as we didn't move around too much we were safe. The mattresses were extremely comfortable though.

We reported bugs in a bed right after checking in, we left right away . Owner refused to refund money, he requested pictures but unfortunately I wasn’t able to take pictures so far as we saw bugs we left at the same moment. Doesn’t worth the price at all. Mold in the walls in the hallway , smells not good at all. I even forgotten my child’s thermo cup at the sink because we could even stay a minute longer . Sad that owners don’t take claims - we will go legal for that
