AWA Holbox Hotel Boutique - Beach Front

I liked everything about the hotel. It was simple luxury. The price for the room was decent as well. All of the staff members were very accomodating and I really enjoyed them and the inyeractions we had.

Around the sides of the hotel on other properties had trash along the roads.

The hotel had this typical boutique vibe and was located a little bit out of the centre of the small town. It provide peace and quiet as well as proximity to everything you might want to do. The room was a the most amazing room of our entire trip, decorated very nice with a home feeling from the first minute. They offered free water for all guests which you can really use when it becomes warm!

Minor detail but the gym is not really a gym. Or you elevate the experience or you remove it :-)

Un poco retirado del centro de Holbox pero a lado rentaban bicicletas y facilitaba el traslado.

A really lovely hotel, that could be fantastic! However, it is not 5* quality and is therefore overpriced for what you get. The majority of the staff were fantastic, especially Erik, the butler, all the bar staff and the hotel us very clean. The reception staff however, were incredibly rude and particularly unhelpful!

A few key things… Check-in is 3pm - we arrived at 3pm and our room was not ready, so we were told they would come and find us… 1.5 hours later we went to ask and they had clearly forgotten about us. Small details like regularly running out of beach towels. There are frequent power cuts on the island, which of course is expected, however, we had paid for a premium villa room and there is no back-up power in this part of the hotel (unlike the main block) meaning we were left without power, running water or a working toilet for hours on end. When we asked at reception about a solution to get ready for the evening, the staff rolled their eyes and said it could be hours! No apology or solution offered. We therefore asked to speak to the manager, who was at least apologetic and helpful.
