Montresora, villa con piscina privata tra il Lago di Garda e Verona

Beautiful house, such friendly hosts, and so helpful. Anytime we were stuck for groceries they dropped some off without us even asking. On the second day they dropped us off freshly baked pastries. One of the days we needed groceries but weren't able to get a taxi back to the villa as it was a national holiday and the owners very kindly collected us. They had suggestions for everything in the area. Anytime anything went wrong with the house, they had someone right over. Could not have asked for better and nicer hosts.

The only thing was that we kept having issues with the lights and electrics and small things like knobs of the cooker coming off when you go to use them but these things are to be expected when it was newly renovated. The house is a bit far out from Verona so if you go, then rent a car, that's what the hosts suggested to us.

The property would not normally come with breakfast... although Luigi dropped around a delicious pastry basket for the 'disturbance' that he was showing gardeners around the property one morning - "so you can enjoy how we have breakfast in Italy!" After 3 years without a vacation we had selected the villa as a place to relax in the sun by the pool and it really is a relaxing place! Surrounded by vines, on the grounds of a 14th century Italian Corte, mature gardens and immaculately-decorated throughout. We took a day trip to Sirmeone on Lake Garda which was only a short drive away, and would love to return again to visit Verona, Padova and Venice which are all accessible. We drove, but equally UK travellers could fly to Verona airport which is very close, less than 30 minutes away. We really cannot over-emphasise how fantastic this property is - we were so fortunate to be only the third guests to stay at the villa which was all brand-new, beautiful and luxurious. We stayed for 5 nights with our family and all of us thought it was the highlight of our 3 week European adventure. We loved it so much we are looking at coming back next year and even checked out the villa next door which is for sale!
