Ivy House

Host provided clear instructions prior to arrival for key collection and directions. The cottage was very clean, well thought out and comfortable, location overlooking farmland was beautiful and rural which is what we were after. There are several pubs in the nearby villages for meals out. Met the host (Rachael) a couple of time while she was looking after the lambs in the field opposite and was really friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Location was beautiful and so peaceful, the property was spacious and well maintained with everything we needed. Loved seeing the lambs in the field next door each morning.

WiFi was intermittent which meant tv often buffered

It’s a farmhouse, but beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows were very clean and extremely comfortable. The shower was powerful, and the kitchen was both nice and spotless, perfect for cooking. The dining room was lovely as well. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean — I usually wouldn’t take a bath anywhere but my own home, but I felt completely confident here. After a long day of hiking, soaking in a warm bath felt like pure heaven!

The Wi-Fi is a bit slow, but that’s understandable given the remote location. It works well enough for one device to stream videos. There’s also phone signal, so I was able to use my mobile data to stream movies while the kids used the Wi-Fi.

Booked at short notice. Communication was good for key pick up. Stunning spot with lovely views. Location great for what we wanted to do. Decor was nice and clean, Christmas decs a nice touch.

Unfortunately the TV is WiFi/internet which dropped out almost every half hour. Only way to watch was to remove all other devices from Wi-Fi. Not an issue if you’re not a TV person! Beds only had one pillow each again not an issue unless you are a two pillow family.

The house was always warm and cozy, especially when the temperature dropped at night. Seeing the sheep and cows every morning was lovely and something my boys still miss. A big thanks to Rachael for providing the things to make it feel like a home away from home. Things like kitchen utensils and cleaning equipment, washing up powder and drying rack... they made our stay that much more comfortable.

Would've preferred nets on the windows for extra privacy, but not a complaint!
