I was surprised to hear that breakfast only started at 8.30, but in fairness to the staff, an earlier breeakfast was prepared for me. So, top marks to the hotel for adapting to my requirements. Staff were amazing by the way.

The location provides a great base to visit the area. The scenery is stunning. The bar menu was excellent. The hotel itself offered lots of spaces to relax....in the conservatory or by a fire with whisky in hand at the end of the day. We wish we had more time in this iconic hotel.

The stairs....if you have bad knees!
